Album Review: goFaster>> - A Modern Education

Take a dash of Artic Monkeys, with a hint of The Futureheads and The Wombats and add a shitload of happiness and that gives you an accurate idea of how Liverpool's goFaster>> sound.

'A Modern Education' is the bands latest release and is filled with jangly guitars, superb vocal harmonies and quirky keyboards, with opener 'Modern Education' being a fine example of this.

Whilst 'Magazine Additions' wouldn't sound out of place at any indie disco with its keyboard-led chorus and charming guitars, that just make you feel good.

The band have a good talent for writing happy indie pop songs with 'Good Times' and 'You Better Watch Out', fly through at a quick-pace with the group's tightness and energy being something to take note of.

The EP ends with 'When The Last Note Sounds' a track that fittingly ends the EP on a high note (no joke intended), as they manage to take a breather and momentarily let the lyrics take center stage before the bands' brilliant musicianship takes over the conclusion.

goFaster>> are definitely on to a good thing. These 5 tracks shows they are a band, that enjoy what they do and have so much energy whilst doing it. They certainly have the art of indie pop-punk done precsiouly as it should be. Don't be surprised if goFaster>> go places in the future.

4/5
