Angels And Airwaves to Sponsor Motocross Racing Team

Angels And Airwaves have announced they are the new corporate partner of Maley Motorsports Racing Team.

Press Release:

"Maley Motorsports is proud to announce Angels & Airwaves (also known as “AVA”) as a new corporate partner to the Maley Motorsports Racing Team. The team will now be known as Team Angels and Airwaves/Maley Motorsports. Maley Motorsports and Angels and Airwaves first developed a relationship in 2008 during a test session at Laguna Seca Raceway in Northern California. For 2009 Maley Motorsports supports four-time, reigning WORC’s Women’s Champion, Maria Forsberg in a number of this season’s WMA Championship races. Forsberg represented the U.S.A at the 2008 International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) in Serres, Greece, and claimed a gold medal and 2nd overall while on the Women’s World Cup Team. She is the only woman to compete at the Red Bull Last Man Standing and the only woman to compete in and finish the Mexican Fun Enduro.

Angels and Airwaves guitarist, David Kennedy, has been instrumental in pulling everything together and came up with a concept to bring Angels and Airwaves and Maley Motorsports together to support not only Forsberg but to team her with WMA Pro Stephanie Cancilla and to support Road Racer Frankie Garcia.

“I spoke with David (Kennedy) for a long time before we came to a concept we were both happy with. We were really impressed with the pride Maria displayed in representing the U.S. at the ISDE and also with her WORC’s Team, RPM/KTM Racing Team. I spoke with Team Manager Mike Hurlbert at length and he agreed to lend Maria to us for select WMA Races. I think this is a great idea and a unique opportunity for us to bring the two worlds of music and motorcycles together. We have started work on some radio stuff already and are in talks with some Television Exec’s about other projects involving the team and sport,” said Maley Motorsports Manager, Justin Maley.

“Angels and Airwaves are excited to go into a partnership with Maley Motorsports and its other strong motorsport properties enabling us to grow our community worldwide. This program will allow us to activate our brand efforts within these communities with the help of Maley Motorsports,” said Angels and Airwaves, David Kennedy.

The Angels & Airwaves/Maley Motorsports race team has a solid line up of professional racers for 2009 that are dedicated to promoting the team and its lifestyle in the following series: WMA Championship and the American Federation of Motorcyclists, 600 Superbike, 600 Production, Formula 1 and Formula Pacific classes along with various other projects throughout the year."
