Exclusive Tour Blog: Starters (Day 1 & 2)

Earlier this week, Ireland's Starters kicked off a UK and European tour with Rochester, New York natives Such Gold.

Throughout the tour, Starters will be writing exclusive updates from the tour especially for Alter The Press!

An account of the first two from bassist Ian Kelly, can be read below.

February 17th - Bury St Edmunds
We caught the ferry to the UK on the morning of the 16th and drove down to Kingston to catch Such Gold and Four Year Strong. It was a great show and hangouts ruled! At the show we had heard that our show in Bury st Edmunds had been cancelled but it all got worked out in the end. We made it to the show a little late and we set up straight away. This Sudden Injury and Settle for Second opened and they both played really well.

Our guitar player/singer wasn't flying in until the next morning so we had to play without with him. It went well enough considering. People seemed into it so I was hella happy. Such Gold and Koji both killed it! After the show we went to stay at Luke from TSI flat. We hit Tesco for some much needed cheap food.

February 18th - Newport
Foxy (Ian Fox - vocalist) was flying into Bristol at 9am so we had to be up super early to drive and meet him. We ended up leaving at 7am. Our sat nav was going crazy and we didn't end up picking him up until after 1. We headed to Newport and chilled at our friend Bethans house before the show.

The line up for the show was Such Gold, Koji, Basement, Starters and More Than Life. It was a sold out show. Every band played so well and kids were going crazy for every band. We have lots of friends in Newport so it made for a wild night. All I have to say is Zach Golden. Shout outs to Lee Peterson for the awesome show, Bethan for being the best and Kai for defending hardcore.
