Exclusive Tour Blog: Starters (Days 12 - 14)

Recently Ireland's Starters kicked off a UK and European tour with Rochester, New York natives Such Gold.

Throughout the tour, Starters will be writing exclusive updates from the tour especially for Alter The Press!

Bassist Ian Kelly has checked in with an update of events over the past few days.

March 2nd - Monchengladbach
We ended up missing the show in Hengelo because the Such Gold van shit the bed and we had to wait a day to get a new one. We had a long ass drive to Germany from London. The show tonight was at a venue called the Roots Club. It was pretty cool and the dude booking the show was awesome. There was an apartment next to the venue that we got to stay in and it ruled. The show itself was sweet. Decent turnout for sure. It was the first show on the tour without KOJI and we all missed him for sure. After the show a bunch of us chilled out, and watched The Life Of Brian and ate some toast. Another great night. Germany is cool.

March 3rd - Hochst, Austria
Another kinda long drive today, maybe 7 hours. The show today was at The Chillout in Hochst, a little town on the Swiss border. I have been there before and its a cool place. A bunch of friends I have not seen in a while made it out to the show, so it was nice to see them. The show itself was cool, not so many people but it was a good time. We all stayed in the venue after the show. The opening band were cool tonight and Such Gold killed it as usual.

March 4th - Regensburg
We got up early and left for Regensburg. The drive was fine and we arrived really early. We got to do some sightseeing, which was incredible. Without doubt one of the most beautiful cities I have ever seen. We were playing in a little bar called Buro. It was awesome. The staff were so lovely and we got free drinks all night. The show was so sweet. Lots of people. Also playing tonight was Dan Webb and the Spiders from Boston. They were great and played last. I really enjoyed ours and Such Golds sets. Great times. After the show we packed up the van, and started what turned out to be a 17 hour drive back to London. It was not lovely, haha.
