Albums That Changed My Life: Chad Gilbert (New Found Glory)

This week's "Albums That Changed My Life" contributor is none other than New Found Glory's own guitarist, Chad Gilbert.

The band are currently on tour in support of their new album, 'Radiosurgery' and will be kick starting the new year with a string of shows in South America with Four Year Strong next month.

Minor Threat - Complete Discography

Now its not my favorite band and not my favorite album but the question is about what album had an impact on my life. The Minor Threat complete discography was that. Why? At a young age I learned and saw through relatives the destructive outcomes alcohol and drug abuse could have on you. It made me never wanted to drink a beer or do drugs. I always thought it was pointless. I was into alternative, punk, and metal and in those genres of music most of the band members were party animals and were open about and supported drug and alcohol usage. I still listened to them and even though I loved their music, I felt like an outsider. That's until my friend told me about Minor Threat. He said to me "you are straight edge, you are like Minor Threat," then I bought the CD and felt like I had a place. There I found loud, crazy, angry, aggressive music and they were singing about how I felt. Their songs had a message. It wasn't just about writing some catchy song. From hearing them it opened the door to so many different hardcore bands and a new world of punk rock.
