I graduated from High School in 2006. I sometimes wish I could go back in time and re-live my high school days. I actually really enjoyed High School. But the thing I enjoyed/missed the most is school lunch!

I remember my friends and I "brisk walking" (because if you remember there is a "no running in the halls" rule) to lunch as fast as we could. As soon as that bell rang we were out the door. They always had different choices throughout the week but they always seemed to have pizza or chicken patty. At my High School we had 4 lunch lines. The outside two lines served the "standard" school lunch and then the two lines in the middle usually always had the pizza or chicken option. I would always switch it up because I pretty much like anything.

I went back to High School the other day with one of my friends. We went to Greenbrier High School to partake in our school lunch (Greenbrier is another local High School where I live). We parked in the student parking lot and we walked in during "C" Lunch and pretended just to be students. (Luckily I look pretty young, haha).

Greenbriers lunch line set it up is just like Evans' from when I went there. They had four lines with the inside two lines coincidentally serving either a pizza or chicken option!

They had a couple of different "lunches" to choose from but when I saw they had spicy chicken patty I had to go for it! This was one of my favorites from when I was in school. They had french fries and a side salad for sides, and a cookie for dessert. Of course they also had your choice of milk to go with it.

My spicy chicken sandwich was just how I remembered it. It wasn't spicy as in "my mouths on fire", but it gave it a little extra flavor boost. I had a ranch and hot sauce on the side to dip it in. I don't remember having hot sauce when I went to Evans but the hot sauce at Greenbrier was great and it gave my "spicy" chicken that extra spice it needed. The fries here at Greenbrier were a little thicker than the ones I remember at Evans. They were still very delicious! They even put seasoning salt on them which was a very nice, flavorful touch. The side salad was kind of whatever but I put ranch on it so that helped it our a little bit. I have to say, School ranch can make almost anything taste good, haha. The cookie for dessert was a great way to end my meal. It had plenty of chocolate chips and was nice and soft. For my milk I chose chocolate. Chocolate milk is always a solid choice and makes everything go down smooth.

All in all, my school lunch was great! It brought me back to way back when. If it's one thing school lunch has taught me, it's that you can drink milk with almost anything!
