Albums That Changed My Life: Joe Godino (The Menzingers)

This week's "Albums That Changed My Life" contributor is Joe Godino of The Menzingers!

Today marks the release of the band's stunning new album, "On The Impossible Past," which we gave a straight 5/5 in our recent album review. If you had to do one thing today, make sure it involves purchasing this album! You can thank us later.

Saves The Day - Through Being Cool

I bought this CD after a drum lesson the night before my 8th grade field trip to Dorney Park in Allentown, Pennsylvania. I listened to it nonstop the whole bus ride down. Still listen to this album to this day. This was my introduction to underground music.

Green Day - Dookie

I remember, like I'm sure a lot of us do, seeing the video for "Basketcase" on MTV and just thinking.. what the fuck is this? It was fast, catchy and fucking snotty. I was probably in 4th or 5th grade when this came out and it was the fastest stuff I'd ever heard up to that point. This was punk.. Way before i knew what the hell punk was.

311 - Transistor

The drumming on this record is what always stays with me. It's a perfect hybrid between rock, reggae, and hip-hop. It changed the way I play drums.

The Clash - London Calling

I can't say anything about this album that hasn't already been said. It's like punk rock itself.. you either get it or you don't.
