April 4th, 2012 - Cook-Out

If you've never heard of the fast food chain "Cook-Out", you're missing out.

Cook-Out originally was only in North Carolina. However, in the last couple of years it has expanded to South Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee.

The whole concept behind "Cook-Out" is that their food is "Cooked Outdoors Style". I believe this means like cooking on a charcoal grill. It definitely tastes like it and it is so dang delicious!

Cook-Out's menu varies from Burgers to chicken to BBQ to hot dogs to "fancy" milk-shakes. They have different ways that you can order your burgers, dogs, and chicken, or you can just customize it to your liking. Cook-Out also offers French Fries, Onion Rings, Hush Puppies, etc as side items. The milk-shakes are unbelievably good. Its probably the best milk-shake Ive ever had anywhere. They have so many flavors to choose from and you can even combine flavors. It's awesome!

Now let's talk about what I ate!

I got the "Cook-Out Tray" which is a special combo off of their menu. It comes with a sandwich choice (Burger, Chicken, BBQ, or Hot Dog) Then you get a choice of two sides (There are many sides to choose from such as a chicken quesadailla and a corn dog!? can you believe it!?) Then you get a choice of a Large drink or for 99 cents you can up your drink to a fancy milk-shake!

The Cook-Out Tray in my opinion is always the way to go. You get a little bit of everything and it's not expensive at all for what you get.

Ive gotten plenty of different combos with the Cook-Out Tray but the combo I went with this time was the Cajun Chicken Sandwich and for my sides I went with the chicken Quesadilla and Cajun Fries.

The Cajun Chicken Sandwich is a must try here! It's a grilled chicken breast with cajun spices, Texas Pete, lettuce, tomato and mayo. It tastes so awesome and the flavor tastes like you grilled it out back your grill. It rules!

The Chicken quesadilla reminds of a miniature version of Taco Balls Quesadilla. The sauce that Cook-Out puts on it reminds me a lot of the Jalapeno sauce that Taco Bell puts on their quesdaillas. It's awesome!

The fries were nice and crisp and as I said I got Cajun fries so that means that there was Cajun spices (The same spice that is used on the cajun chicken) was sprinkled over my fries. Delicious!

I didn't go for the milk-shake this time because I was playing a show later on and I didn't want to be too overly full. I have had the milk-shakes there plenty of times and let me tell you, do not pass this up on your first visit! The milk-shakes absolutely rule.

Visit Cook-Outs website to see a full menu picture with descriptions of what they offer here: www.cookoutnc.com

Next time you see one, stop and eat! Trust me you wont regret it!
