Albums That Changed My Life: Vinnie Caruana (I Am The Avalanche)

This week's serving of "Albums That Changed My Life" goodness comes from Vinnie Caruana of I Am The Avalanche!

The band are currently gearing up for their appearance on this year's Vans Warped Tour. Make sure to find out if they are playing your town, as they'll be only playing select dates.

Slick Rick - The Adventures of Slick Rick

I believe this record came out in 1988, and I remember listening to it every single day after it came out for awhile. Most of my friends and I were/are way into hip hop, even at very young ages. While I was listening to Slick Rick, I had to look over my shoulder to make sure my parents couldn't hear it or see the album artwork. The lyrical content was definitely not for a nine year-old.

Minor Threat - Out Of Step

This is one of the first hardcore records I ever heard, and it truly is still one of the best ever made. Timeless tunes. If you don't listen to Minor Threat, you can still start. The songs are that good.

Seaweed - Spanaway

I've been very vocal about this album. This is one of the most underrated "punk" bands ever. The honesty of the lyrics were pivotal in forming the writing approach that I take now. Sick fucking record.

Morrissey - Your Arsenal

Morrissey means so much to me, and I listen to him probably more than any other solo artist. He has so many great songs, but this record, in my opinion, has the most great songs on it. He is all heart and all style, and I tend to draw from those sorts of influences.
