August 8th, 2012: Elmwood Park Diner (Elmwood Park, NJ)

Elmwood Park Diner is literally right down the street from where my band Veara is recording our new Record. The other week I visited the Saddlebrook Diner and I was very impressed. Here's how the Elmwood Park Diner was:

The diner pretty much had everything on the menu that the Saddlebrook diner had. (I've noticed a trend with diners. They all pretty much have just about every type of food you could want!) There was one thing on the menu that caught my eye, and it wasn't on the Saddlebrook diners menu. This item was called "Pizza Fries"!!

Ive read about Pizza Fries before. As soon as I saw these under the "Appetizers" section, I knew that this was what I was ordering!

Their french fries with tomato sauce (or pizza sauce) topped with a very generous portion of mozzarella cheese. Man, we're these things good! I also ordered a side of Blue Cheese to dip them in and that really set them off! The mozzarella was very tasty. The fact that they put a ton of cheese on top had me in heaven. I'm a sucker for cheese and I love it when there is a ridiculous amount. The only thing that I think could of made these better was if the tomato sauce came from a local pizza place that focuses on nothing but pizza. Don't get me wrong, the sauce was good, but just imagine if it was a sauce from a place that specialized in just pizza. It would be off the chain!!!
