September 26th, 2012 (Bruster's Real Ice Cream)

Have you ever heard of the Ice Cream chain "Bruster's 'Real' Ice Cream"? Well if you haven't and you happen to see one (they are all over the East Coast as well as a few locations out in Texas) make sure to stop and get a delicious ice cream!

I haven't done a food blog solely just on a dessert, so here it is!

After a long day of working hard or maybe just the sweet tooth hits, sometimes you just gotta eat something sweet. Ice cream is a fun treat to indulge in and the coolest thing about ice cream is, is that no matter how full you may feel you will always have room for ice cream!

My family and I decided to venture up to Bruster's Ice Cream one afternoon to do just that.... indulge!

Buster's always has fresh "Real" Ice cream that is made fresh every day. They will always have the basics such as vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry but every day they will have a list of specialty ice creams and it varies from day to day. Upon looking at the list I saw the words "Cheesecake" in two of the flavors they had. Cheesecake is one my absolute favorite desserts so I knew that I had to get me one of these. The two flavors I was torn between were "Oreo Cheesecake" and "New York Cheesecake". I sampled both (which you can do as many times and as many flavors as you want) and I found myself torn. How do I pick which one is better? The Oreo Cheesecake had chunks of cheesecake mixed in with ores and the NY Cheesecake had chunks of cheesecake mixed in with a graham cracker crust. There's only one way to solve this issue... GET BOTH! Yup! That's right! I got a double scooped cone. I got the NY Cheesecake on the bottom of a freshly made waffle cone and a scoop of the Oreo Cheesecake on the top!

Both were so amazingly awesome and creamy that I was in heaven with each lick. I tore throughout the Oreo cheesecake on top. It's flavor was outstanding. The crunch of the oreo cookie with the creaminess of the cheesecake was incredible. Once I made it past the Oreo Cheesecake and got down to the NY Cheesecake, I was a woman obsessed. I couldn't stop! Haha. The NY Cheesecake was creamy like the Oreo version but when you would bite into a spot that had the chunks of the graham cracker crust it was insane! And let me tell you, I had some BIG chunks of crust mixed in! AMAZING! The waffle cone was a great addition as well. They are made fresh daily at Bruster's. In fact, You can smell the scent of the waffle cones being cooked when you're up at the window ordering your ice cream. DELICIOUS!! Do yourself a favor, next time you have that urge for something sweet, go to a Bruster's and indulge! You won't regret it!
