November 28th, 2012 - Duke's Waikiki

This past week I went on a family vacation to Hawaii (I know, sick right!?). We stayed on the island of Oahu and spent the week at the beach and going to see all the sites around the island such as The North Shore (World famous big waves for surfers), Pearl Harbor, etc.

Of course you know I ate my tail off! (Or on if you want to get technical, haha). We had everything from fresh seafood at Nicos Pier 38 (As seen on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives) to Bubba Gumps and even went and experienced some "real" Hawaiian food at a Luau!

There was one place in particular that was a constant. It's a restaurant on the beach (and on the bottom level of our hotel) called "Duke's". Duke's is named after the famous surfer "Duke" himself who use to surf the waves of good ol' Waikiki Beach. We ate at Duke's every morning for breakfast. They had a breakfast buffet that was seriously out of this world good! Every morning you could choose between scrambled eggs, vegetable scrambled eggs, eggs benedict, potatoes, sausage, bacon, pancakes, french toast, an omelette station (where you can put into your omelette whatever you please). biscuits, muffins, bagels, cereal, and all the fresh pineapple you want!

Now if you know me, then you know I was in friggin' heaven every morning! I love breakfast food and this was most definitely the best way to start every day when you know you're gonna be out on the beach surfing or swimming for hours.

Every morning I would start by putting in my order for a cup of coffee and then I'd head straight to the buffet! Everything was so good and fresh. They were constantly coming out with more fresh hot food to make sure that the food stayed up to standards. My favorite items off of the buffet were the eggs benedict and the freshest of fresh Dole Pineapple.

The eggs benedict was easily the best eggs benedict Ive ever eaten. The poached egg was so light and fluffy. Ive never had an eggs benedict this good before! The hollandaise sauce drizzled on top of the egg and "Canadian" bacon and english muffin reallllllly set this thing off! SOOOOOOOO AMAZING!!

They say once you eat Pineapple in Hawaii you'll never be able to eat Pineapple the same anywhere else. Well I never quite understood that until I tackled the pineapple here... They are most definitely RIGHT! The pineapple here is unbelievably juicy, fresh, and just down right awesome!! I would end each breakfast with a plate of pineapple and no matter how full I was I found myself not being able to stop eating this delicious pineapple!

Id go back for multiple plates. I made sure to hit up the omelette station of course and Id put jalapenos, onions, bell peppers, cheese, and onions all in my omelette. So rad!!

Here's some plates to check out that I had every morning:

If you are ever in Hawaii and are on the island of Oahu and are staying on Waikiki Beach, do yourself a HUGE favor and make sure to stop by Duke's in the morning to partake in their amazing Breakfast buffet. It is most definitely worth it!!!
