Lostprophets Frontman Ian Watkins Remanded In Custody Until March Over Child Sex Offenses

Lostprophets frontman Ian Watkins reappeared in court today on alleged child sex offence charges, including conspiracy to rape a one-year-old girl.

Watkins spoke only to give his name at the hearing, which lasted 10 minutes. He was remanded in custody over the Christmas period with two other women - who also face charges relating to child sex allegations.

Today (December 31st), the trio appeared in Cardiff Crown Court via video-link and only spoke to confirm their names, which lasted less than 10 minutes. All three defendants have been remanded further in custody, with a plea and case management hearing scheduled for March 11th, 2013.

As well as being charged with conspiring to rape a child under the age of 13, Watkins faces five other sex abuse charges.

They include conspiring to engage in sexual activity with two young children as well as making, downloading and distributing child pornography and accessing “extreme pornography” - relating to animals.
