ATP! Presents: Nothing Cool Rhymes With Mindy (October 2013)

OCTOBER IS HERE!!

This just so happens to be my favorite month EVER. You get the chilly weather, the decorations, and of course HALLOWEEN. I don't care how old I get, I will always go Trick-or-Treating. Whether that means I dress up and hit the neighborhood slumping over to look like I'm a little kid when I accept candy, or simply hitting my own candy bowl that's set out for the Trick-or-Treaters. But honestly, I've only missed maybe 3 years of Trick-or-Treating in my life, mostly from being on tour at the time. Forever a child.

MY FAVORITE THINGS OF OCTOBER!

LUSH's Special HALLOWEEN Creatures of the Bath!

Cosmetics is the best at keeping the fun in holidays, and they do Halloween right! They decorate each soap, bubble bar, bath bomb like little creatures in creepy-fun colors to make you want your bath time last forever. I'm currently obsessed with their "Cerdwen's Cauldron" Bath Melt, which is a magic potion of lavender, oats, and sandalwood that you literally let melt into your bathtub for a calming, skin-restoring soak. The "Lord of Misrule" Bubble Bar is another favorite with it's concoction of vanilla, black pepper, and patchouli scent that you toss in your tub for an abyss of fun, wine-colored spooky bubbles. Their "Pumkin" Bubble Bar is my favorite looks-wise, he's just so cute! He's made with ylang ylang oil and orange flower scent that makes for a fun, luxurious bubbly bathtime. For just $8, you can break him apart each time and get about 3-4 uses out of him! Last but not least is the "Demon of the Dark" Soap. The name of it alone pulls you in. This mint, apple, and warming-clove scented soap is a sure way to wake you up in the morning, and yet, even relax you at night before bed. It's a very mysterious, enchanting soap that pairs perfectly with the brisk Autumn weather. All of these items plus MORE are available at LUSH stores, and online during the month of October. So hurry up and go get them while they last! You won't regret it! http://www.lushusa.com.

Project Juice!

Anytime I'm in San Francisco, I hunt down some of Project Juice's drinks. Their products are 100% organic, cold-processed, vegan, gluten-free. The juices are amazing tasting, anywhere from super veggie greens, to fruity and tart, to sweet creamy Mylks. Mylk means it's a milky-tasting drink that's not made with any dairy milk, but made from nuts, which tastes like a creamy, sweet almond-y milk heaven. I've been missing my Project Juices for a while now since we haven't toured out that way recently. I was generously gifted a Sampler pack of Project Juice's one-day cleanse (THANKS PJ!). In my sampler I received: #GetYourGreens, Beta Bomb, E-Z Green Plus, Jala-Greeno, Swizz Beetz, and Almond Mylk.

This was my first time doing a one-day cleanse with PJ, instead of just having one juice a day while I was in town. The #GetYourGreens was my first drink. It's got TONS of greens + warm ginger an comforting aloe. It's like a morning wake up juice and total renewal. The Beta Bomb was next on my list, with pineapple carrot and orange, it's very tropical and sweet and refreshing. Third was my E-Z Green Plus, which was another green juice, but very drinkable and lovable with the apple & lemon accents. I felt a boost after this! Then there was Jala-greeno with it's pineapple, jalapeno, kale concoction. Perfect spiciness for an afternoon wake-up, and the warmness leaves you feeling satisfied and full. Swizz Beets was my fifth and one of my favorites as always. Something about juiced beets is incredible. PJ combines theirs with carrot, cucumber, ginger, apple, and lemon which balances it out perfectly. My last and most favorite juice is the Almond Mylk. I could go on and on about this one, but I'll just say it's heaven in a bottle. I like to throw mine in the freezer for a couple of minutes to make it like a "mylkshake" and that way it lasts longer and is really a treat at the end of a cleanse. Cleanses are a perfect way to restart your system and help flush out toxins, and feel better. I felt on top of the world the next morning! I definitely recommend EVERYONE get yourself a cleanse, and if you're looking for an amazing tasting one, shop http://www.ProjectJuice.com. Right now they have overnight shipping anywhere for a 3-day cleanse for just $45 (those juices are heavy y'all)!! And I promise you, you'll thank me.

SheInside.com!

Ladies, do I have a treat for you... Sheinside is an online clothing store based out of China that sells the cutest and latest styles of dresses, boots, tops, pants, and more. And unlike a lot of online shops these days, everything actually happens to be super affordable! They have a lot of very unique items that you won't find anywhere else in the US. Their style inspiration comes from the streets of Tokyo, London, Paris, Shanghai, and New York. The website is updated DAILY and they always have new designs coming in. Below are just two examples of things I've fallen in love with from SheInside.com (my Black Sleeveless Floral Dress, and my METAL Sweatshirt). If you haven't ever shopped their site, I suggest you go now! :) http://www.sheinside.com/.

Brad's Raw Chips!

I think there's still a huge misconception with people thinking that healthy food can't taste good. I don't know what they've experienced or are afraid of, but let me tell you, some of the healthiest good-for-you foods can be some of the BEST things you've ever eaten in your life. If you've never tried Brad's Raw Kale or Raw Chips, you haven't had your mind blown. How can something raw, gluten-free, vegan, non-GMO taste so good and addicting? Is it Magic? Maybe. All of Brad's products are all of those things, plus chemical and preservative-free, and they're full of protein and fiber. I love the "Naked" flavor of "Brad's Raw Crunchy Kale." They have just the perfect amount of spices and "cheesy" taste made from ground cashews + other healthy ingredients. I mean, as I'm typing this I literally have Kale Chip debris all over my keyboard cause I can't stop snacking. The new product I tried was the "Brad's Raw Cheddar Chips." Like the Crunchy Kale, they're made with ground cashews + other good things like red bell peppers, carrot, tomato, garlic, onion, flax seed, sunflower seeds, + more. The thing I taste most is the "cheesiness" and the "tomato." I feel like these could almost be called "Brad's Raw Pizza Chips." Either way, if you're skeptical, or just looking for a new healthier snack instead of potato chips or crackers, definitely hit up your natural markets/Whole Foods Markets and snag some of these! Also available at http://www.bradsrawchips.com. Big thanks to Brad's for letting me try the Chips! ;)
