Tom DeLonge's Company/Recording Studio Evacuated Due To Carlsbad Fire

Angels and Airwaves frontman Tom DeLonge's company headquarters/recording studio has been evacuated today (May 14th) due to the Carlsbad Fire in San Diego, California.

Intense flames from a brush fire burning north of El Camino Real in Carlsbad have jumped the road and have prompted mandatory evacuations.

DeLonge has posted real-time photos via his official Instagram account of the fire spreading.

AlertSanDiego reports it has notified 11,600 homes, businesses and cell phones to evacuate in the city of Carlsbad. Officers are using loudspeakers to make mandatory evacuation orders in the area. Authorities are asking residents to heed the warning and leave the area if asked.

UPDATE (May 15th): Angels and Airwaves have posted a statement confirming that the studio was unharmed due to the fire and everyone is safe:

"Scary day at the AVA studio yesterday. One of ten San Diego wildfires surrounded the building. We ran out with computers and hard drives with all our music and a couple of Toms favorite guitars. We're happy to say that right now the fire is 60% contained and the studio is unharmed. Looking forward to jump back into recording as soon as the roads open back up. Giving a huge thanks to the SD firefighters who kick major ass!!!!"
