Demi Lovato Destroys James Corden in a Divas Then, Divas Now Riff-Off

James Corden made a huge mistake on last night's (Apr. 5) show of The Late Late Show. Corden was going on about how much he loves the new American radio station he discovered on his way to work that plays only the hits by some of pop music's classic divas like Tina Turner.

"I was like, 'they don't make 'em like that anymore, do they?'" he said. "Divas back then were just better than divas are today. Know what i mean? They didn't have Instagram, they just had sass, voice, souls." Unfortunately for Corden, Demi Lovato was one of the guests on the show and she did not take kindly to his statement.

"I heard you've been telling people that divas back then are better than divas today," she said, clearly perturbed. Yup, he replied, rattling off a list that included Turner, Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston, who he insisted were fiercer than those of today. Cue the Divas Then, Divas Now Riff-Off.

"I've got hits from before you were born," he told Lovato. "I've got hits of my own," Lovato shot back, before dipping into a killer version of Adele's "Rolling in the Deep." Corden responded with Turner's "River Deep, Mountain High," which Demi labeled "terrible." He showed her who was boss with Franklin's "Respect," so she hit back with Katy Perry's "Roar" and then buried him with one of own mega-hits.
