Ed Sheeran Quits Twitter Over Abuse from Internet Trolls

Ed Sheeran no longer posts to Twitter because of constant abuse from Internet trolls.

In a new interview with The Sun, Sheeran said of the social media platform: “I’ve actually come off Twitter completely. I can’t read it. I go on it and there’s nothing but people saying mean things.” The British singer-songwriter still posts to Instagram, and most of the tweets on his account simply share those pictures and clips.

Ed Sheeran Joins James Corden For 'Carpool Karaoke' in London

Ed Sheeran joined Late Late Show host James Corden in London on Tuesday night for the latest edition of the host's popular "Carpool Karaoke" segment.

Picking up Sheeran, Corden put on the singer's hit "Shape of You" as the duo cruised the roadways and got a little handsy. "I told you it's a sexy song," the host said as Sheeran reached over and placed his hand on Corden's thigh.

Other songs performed included "SING" and acoustic performances of "Thinking Out Loud," Justin Bieber's "Love Yourself," and One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful."

Ellie Goulding Denies She Was Ever Dating Ed Sheeran

Ellie Goulding wants to clear a few things up: Yes, she went on a few dates with One Direction's Niall Horan, but, according to her Elle cover story, she never seriously dated Ed Sheeran.

"I did go on a few dates with Niall but I was never in a relationship with Ed," the "Love Me Like You Do" singer tells the magazine. "I have absolutely no idea where that came from and why it was turned into such a big thing. I find it so frustrating that female musicians are constantly defined by the men they have or haven't dated. It's something I've talked about with [Taylor Swift] a lot. She definitely feels that. She gets bothered by it. It's like, you can be a great artist, you can write great songs, but the thing that everyone is going to talk about is some relationship they think you have had or not had. It's definitely something we both think happens to female artists over male artists."

Reportedly titled "Sweet Mary Jane," the track is an acoustic slow jam. And, no, Mary Jane is not a woman. Here's some lyrical proof: "I woke up early looking out my window at the Amsterdam sky / Oh baby, I was high last night / Cafe clouds and red lights." Later he sings, "I'm so damn high/ Have you seen my eyes?"

Ed Sheeran Announces North American Fall Tour Dates

Ed Sheeran has announced a second leg to his North American tour, kicking off at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston, TX, on September 3.

The month-long trek includes some of the GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter’s biggest headlining shows in North America to date.

Sheeran’s summer tour is already proving to be a phenomenal success with most dates selling out in a matter of minutes, including Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, Newark’s Prudential Center, and back-to-back nights at the iconic Hollywood Bowl.

The North American dates – which also include top billing at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis, Rock in Rio USA in Las Vegas, and Summerfest in Milwaukee - are part of Sheeran’s highly successful worldwide tour which culminates with three sold out nights at London’s Wembley Stadium.
