The Audition Drop Off Marianas Trench Tour; Vocalist To Undergo Surgery
The Audition have been forced to drop off their current tour with Marianas Trench. The band released the following statement:
"Due to unfortunate circumstances, The Audition will not appear with Mariana's Trench on the remainder of their tour dates (Chicago and Detroit). The band is taking several weeks off so that Danny can undergo minor vocal surgery and take the necessary time to rest and recuperate after. We apologize to everyone that may be disappointed, we are looking forward to getting back out on the road again in the fall and seeing all of you guys! Thanks so much for all your support for us and for Chapter II - we'll see you again soon!"

The Audition, a band no longer associated with Victory Records, seem to have discovered a sense of pomp and swagger unseen by them for a number of years. Bands can respond differently to cutting ties with a long-standing relationship, with some making the decision to spend the next release point-scoring over their former employers, or even finding their songwriting suffering as a consequence.The Audition nod towards the shift in circumstances with the EP’s title – "Chapter II" – a clear acknowledgement that the band is looking to start something new, but they let the music do the talking after that.
