Interview: Ace Enders

Having only just self-released his new album, 'The World We Know', Alter The Press! sat down with Ace Enders of I Can Make A Mess Like Nobody's Business to speak about how the band originated, the new album and how it was sold for 99 cents on Amazon early, clearing up rumors about The Early November and more.

Alter The Press: What made you want to start 'I Can Make A Mess Like Nobody's Business'?'
Ace Enders: It started originally as a side project a long time ago, and now has become what I do, but, originally, it was something that I could do that didn’t have any rules. My other band, at the time, was sort of in a genre that you couldn't really get out of; this was sort of my escape from that.

ATP: You just released your second album, 'The World We Know'. How has the response been so far?
Ace: Very good, I have been really excited. Everyone has been really supportive.

ATP: You sold 1,000 copies in the first day, what was your first response when seeing the figures?
Ace: Very exciting, I don't think anyone was expecting it to do super well but it's cool.

ATP: The situation with Amazon selling the album early, for 99 cents. What exactly happened?
Ace: I have no idea; no one is really taking the blame, so it's kind of difficult. It's either the company who gives it to Amazon to put up, or them [Amazon] but no one is accepting the blame.

Ace Enders New Album Price Mistake On Amazon

I Can Make A Mess Like Nobody's Business' new album, 'The World We Know', was live on Amazon to purchase for 99 cents by mistake recently.

Ace Enders made the following statement:

"I would like to thank everyone for the overwhelmingly positive response when the record accidentally went up for .99 cents last night. It was not intended for the record to come out yesterday, or for it to be that price. I have no idea how the mistake happened, but crazy things happen sometimes. I know there were A LOT of people who ended up buying it and I really appreciate it. Unfortunately the record has to go back up to the regular price for us to be able to get out of the debt that self releasing a record has put us in. But here is what we're going to do to make up for the mistake that happened last night. Next Monday March 22nd, the day before the scheduled release, we will be putting the record up so that anyone can download it and pay whatever they want for it. This way you can pay whatever you want, whether it be one dollar or fifty dollars. I always wanted to do something like this and I guess this is the universe's way of giving me the opportunity to do so. I wish we could keep it up for .99 cents forever, but we just can't afford to do it like that. Thanks so much for caring and supporting. I'm sorry for the confusion. Also, the record that went up last night was one long track, but the version available next week will be individual tracks."
