Rise Sign Of Mice and Men

Rise Records have signed Ohio band Of Mice and Men. The band formed only a week ago is made up of former Attack Attack! frontman Austin Carlile and graphic designer Jaxin Hall.

The band posted the following myspace blog:

After recording 'Someday Came Suddenly' and touring some with Attack Attack, Austin [Carlile] left the band. With him leaving, Craig from Rise Records and Eric from The Artery Foundation told him to get into another band and that he would have their full support. After looking into established bands, and talking to different people, Austin decided to start something new of his own. He ask one of his best friends Jaxin Hall from New Zealand, to be his partner in crime and apart of whatever he did next. The two, got their friends in Though She Wrote and Miss May I, to help them write and record the song 'Seven Thousand Miles for What?' they had been working on. The next day they posted it on Myspace. Five days later the inevitable happened. They joined up with the two people that had stood by them since day one. Rise and Artery were always considered family, and after hearing the song, they accepted us into theirs.

"We couldn't ask for better friends and partners, and most of all you, people like you, the fans. OM&M wouldn't be possible without all the support that was shown to Austin after his departure from AA. He knew where his heart was, and knew he wanted to continue making music for his love of it and for the people who mattered most. Those people are you, whoever listens and loves. We want to thank you all for the kind words, messages, comments, promotion, everything. And we want to let you know that in the upcoming months we will have a full line up, shows booked, and a full length album on the way. We love you, and hope you will take us into your hearts. We believe music, the power of kind people and love, can change the world, and we plan on trying. Thanks again everyone."
