Single Review: The Gullivers - All That Fall/In Orbit

Oxford's The Gullivers deliver a digital only double A-side single with 'All That Fall/In Orbit', which together clocks in at 8-minutes. On the single, the 4-piece bring together dream-pop elements to craft a pleasant indie rock sound. Vocalist and keyboardist Sophie McGrath reminds me of a cross between Genevieve Schatz of Company of Thieves with a hint of Regina Spektor.

On “All That Fall” McGrath sings “Still you wait to fall in love.” The guitars get a little tingly during the song and add a slightly upbeat tone without sounding misplaced. With “In Orbit" the song takes an ambient vibe that's nice to close your eyes to and enjoy. The harmonies are soothing and poised. Guitarist Mark Byrne also contributes with some harmonies and backing vocals. The band is rounded out by Andrew Grillo on bass and Emma Ramsey on drums.
