Album Review: Out Of Sight - Where Do We Go From Here?

Out Of Sight have built up a nice reputation in the UK over the past few years, with shows here, there and everywhere; most notably shows alongside Every Avenue, Hey Monday and appearances at the last two Slam Dunk Festivals. For some the bands debut full-length has been a longtime coming but 'Where Do We Go From Here?' is now seeing the light of day.

It quickly becomes apparent that the four-piece know how to write infectious hooks that sound bright and instantly make you feel good. Tracks like 'You Know What I Need' and 'This Is Really What Living Is Really Like' set the tempo with a lively tone, with the latter being a bouncy number with additonal group vocals that round off the track well.

Out Of Sight certainly have perfected the skill of writing 3 minute pop-rock burts that are nearly perfect (see 'Hey! (Walk Away)' and 'No Time Like The Present'). Nonetheless there is a subtle US influence throughout; 'Where Do We Go From Here' is slightly reminscent of Valencia/The Dangerous Summer. Whilst a hint of All Time Low is sprinkled here and there. However this dosn't take any credit away from Out Of Sight, as from start to finish they manage to hold their own against their US comparisons and at times beat them at it; especially in the albums first half.

If you're looking for plenty of hooks and sing-a-long choruses for the summer months, then you can do no wrong with 'Where Do We Go From Here?, a collection of pop-rock songs with memorable lyrics and an all-round postive vibe.
