Album Review: Run From Robots - Sorry You Don't Love Us

Somerset's Run From Robots take the heavy elements of Four Year Stong and give it a British spin. 'Sorry You Don't Love Us' starts pretty well with 'Red Rocket' and its stabbing pop-punk guitars but unfortunately the lead vocals spoil the momentum. Musically the band are favourable but do play it a bit safe here.

'Overcoat' sees a slight improvement in the vocal department and the fast tempo helps this. In addition the band more or less have the key pop-punk attributes down to a tee, yet not all that original. Whilst 'Put 3 In Get 4 Out' is easily forgettable and on the whole sounds pretty generic.

The bass-driven 'In The Silent Killer' brings the mini-album back around, with its additional fiery guitars. Whilst the poorly titled 'C U @ The Clinic' is one of the weaker tracks and on the whole sounds a bit generic with the equally poor 'Get Down Get Down' seeing the band keep any consistency they may have had.

Structurally Run From Robots are pretty much faultless but their whole sound isn't anything different from which is already out there. This means the band may struggle to make a name for themselves. With a few tweaks here and there; the songwriting and vocals could do with some improvement, the may happen. Nevertheless if you're a fan of the genre, they maybe worth giving a try.
