Alter The Press! Presents: MakeLikeMadeline

North West, UK group MakeLikeMadeline take the Southern-tinged US Hardcore/Rock 'n' Roll style and have adapted to their own surroundings. Together with their DIY ethics, the four-piece's hard work has paid off with support slots with Cancer Bats and Young Demise, as well as two EP releases. With plenty of hard-hitting riffs, and frantic numbers already in their arsenal, MakeLikeMadeline are on the right way to better things.

Alter The Press: Why should Alter The Press! readers check you out?
MakeLikeMadeline: Alter The Press readers should check us out because they’re clearly a clever and attractive bunch. But in all seriousness, as a band based in a small UK town with a limited history of success, we have already reached certain boundaries supporting fantastic bands like Cancer Bats, Your Demise and Young Guns, funding our own UK tours and putting four figure sums into our own CD recording and releases. We have the tunes and you have the ears and if you’re craving some decent home grown rock and roll, we think we can accommodate you. It helps that are all devilishly handsome too I suppose.

ATP: What's the story behind the band?
MLM: We popped on the UK music scene after some very difficult and bizarre band break up’s, and the whole idea just slotted together through emails and MySpace messages. Even after drummer nightmares and all sorts of related issues, we've never skipped a beat and thankfully we have ended up a solid four-piece band with no drama attached!

ATP: Single highlight as a band so far?
MLM: That is such a tough question, but it has to be when we sold out a home town venue on a show that we put together ourselves, with our own funding, own promotion and we got to share it with bands that we all actually love and respect. Not to mention the shows with Cancer Bats, Young Guns and recording with Jonny Renshaw from Devil Sold His Soul. We're just big fan boys at heart, so it’s always a high point to play with bands we all look up to.

ATP: What are your plans for the 12 months?
MLM: Shows! Lots and Lots of shows just running around the country in a tiny car packed with gear, living off penny’s that we will earn off people nice enough to buy a T-Shirt at a show. We hope we can reach out to a lot of new people with our live sets and just blow them away, that’s what is all about! We are also going to spend a lot of the year writing and recording releasing various tracks, singles and building up to an album release eventually, depending when we are ready for that. We have also recently signed to New Order Management, who we look forward to working with and hopefully they help us to move on to bigger and better things.
