Single Review: The Xcerts - Young (Belane)

After giving a preview of their new album ('Scatterbarin') earlier this year with the brilliant 'Slackerpop'. The Scottish/Exeter trio are back with 'Young (Belane)', Whilst the former evidently showed the work of producer Mike Sapone, this time the band showcase a British-flavoured alt-rock sound that may throw comparisons towards one or two other trios from Scotland.

Nevertheless the tracks decent tempo, and all-round tightness comes off well. Whilst on first listen it is not instantly favourable, it is certainly a grower and builds up anticipation for the new record well. In addition a delicate b-side called 'I Am Home' is a calm, sweeping number that shows the bands variation in style.
