Alter The Press! Presents: A Day Overdue

Glasgow-based A Day Overdue have spent most of 2010 touring relentlessly, with shows up and down the UK alongside the likes of Not Advised, Elliot Minor, The Famous Class, My Passion, Just Me Again and Amy Can Flyy. In addition they followed two previous EP's with full-length, 'Secrets'. A record that is catchy, upbeat and packed with plenty of energy, which is something the band have plenty of. As tracks like 'Scream! and 'Kicking & Screaming'.

Alter The Press: Why should Alter The Press! readers check you out?
A Day Overdue: If you don't, our bass player Kenny will harrass you on Facebook until you give in! Seriously though, we write good, honest songs about real things that you can relate to and we're 100% committed to making a career out of our band. We've had some fantastic experiences already in the short time we've been together and we try to give as much as we can back to our fans. Hopefully some of you reading will consider yourselves fans in the future, so have a listen - you've got nothing to lose!

ATP: What's the story behind the band?
ADO: The band initially formed in March 2009 as more of a hobby than anything else. After playing a few shows in our home town of Edinburgh and releasing a demo EP titled "Something For The Weekend" we began to take our band a little more seriously and, in the process, had to say goodbye to our original rhythm guitarist and bassist. After a couple of months of searching we found Micky to play guitar and Kenny to play bass, and ever since then our workrate has increased every single day. We spend a lot of time online spreading the word about our music which has seen our Facebook page grow to almost 10,000 fans at the time of writing. We're real believers in self promotion and financing and see this as the future of the music industry - if you're not working as hard as you can every single day to promote your band then you won't make it far with the amount of competition these days.

ATP: Single highlight as a band so far?
ADO: I think all of us would agree that the best show we've ever played at was a sold out Camden Barfly in August of this year. Seeing that amount of people singing our lyrics back to us and having such a good time watching us was unbelieveable. Hopefully over the next 12 months we'll go a long way towards making every show as amazing as that one.

ATP: What are your plans for the 12 months?
ADO: We're actually just about to shoot our first music video for a song called "The City Sleeps" from our debut album. We have a pretty cool concept lined up and we're really looking forward to seeing the finished product! After that we have a few one-off shows before the end of the year, including a support slot with Amy Can Flyy in Dunfermline (November 30th) and a trip down to London to play the Relentless Garage (December 12th), as well as our own headline show in Glasgow on November 24th. Then we'll be taking some time off the road to promote our video and announce our next big tour for April 2011 - we've got two fantastic bands on board with us and it should be a really enjoyable tour for everyone! If that wasn't enough we are also in the middle of recording a Christmas song which we will be giving away as a free digital download on our Facebook and Myspace pages from December 1st.
