Alter The Press! Presents: Neighbors

With an all-round positive response to their 'Hellomind' EP, Long Island, New York's Neighbors have been catching peoples eye left, right and center. With a 4.5/5 review right here on Alter The Press, a song included in a Lacrosse Xbox video game, as well as shows with Envy on the Coast, The Sleeping, Matt and Kim and Harvard.

Neighbors are set to continue their rise, as their brand of favourable, energetic rock has plenty of urgency and leaves you wanting more.

Alter The Press: Why should Alter The Press! readers check you out?
Neighbors: Alter The Press! readers should check us out because we are not your typical cookie cutter band. We have a lot of raw energy and are very passionate about everything we do. We make sure to play a different set every show, and are constantly giving our listeners something new to chew on. We also make it a point to extend our creativity into fun video updates and alternate versions of our songs. We like to think our music is catchy, melodic, and still very technical at the same time.

ATP: What's the story behind the band?
Neighbors :We've all been playing in bands since our early high school years around Long Island, and we decided to join forces in the summer of 2009. We spent the first 5 months as a band rehearsing and writing songs until we felt ready to move forward and play shows. We take our art very seriously and we take a lot of pride in the music we make. We played our first show in March of 2010, and have been yet to look back

ATP: Single highlight as a band so far?
Neighbors: Playing in front of a sold out crowd at Irving Plaza, opening Envy on the Coast's farewell show. We played to a room full of people who mostly had no idea who we were, and the response was great. That show definitely helped put us on the map and gave us a great boost forward.

ATP: What are your plans for the 12 months?
Neighbors: To continue to write new tunes, have an even greater live show, and tour as much as we possibly can.
