ATP! Presents: Nothing Cool Rhymes With Mindy (August 2013)

So, Summer is approaching it's last couple of weeks and all of you in school are gearing up for another year. Some of you are rolling your eyes at that very thought right now while some of us are just shocked that it's even August already, and melting in the humidity and heat, crossing our fingers for Fall... aka that person is me. Don't get me wrong, I do love Summer, but in the South, it's really just an outdoor sauna filled with bugs, brutal humidity, and inner hatred, haha.

★ Before we start August's favorites, I want to mention that if you loved last month's "NCRWM" post and loved the Violet Love Headbands (pictured below), then get excited because I am going to be doing a GIVEAWAY through my Instagram THIS MONTH of my top 2 favorite VL Headbands! Follow me on Twitter: @mindywhite and Instagram: @mindywhitestates for more details on how to win!! ★

Anyway, Here are my favorite things of August!

Favorite August Drink: The BUTTERBEER FRAPUCCINO at Starbucks

YES, you read that right. Since Harry Potter's birthday just passed us on July 31st, I'm really in a Harry Potter mood (...but really, when am I not?) So, I decided I wanted to feature something "secret" that I've been ordering for a long time now. Starbucks has a "hidden menu" that they didn't create, but customers and workers have, and someone along the way who was SUPER SMART and AWESOME created a BUTTERBEER FRAPUCCINO. Who didn't read the Harry Potter books/watch the movies just lusting after a Butterbeer? And Wizarding World in Orlando is a long way to travel for a Butterbeer (even though I have before). Now you can have one, and at the perfect time in the hottest point of Summer. Now, granted, you must know that not every employee is going to know exactly how to make it, (probably cause they're a silly Muggle) so you may have to walk them through making it. Here's how to do so:

Ask for a Grande Creme Frappuccino-Double blended, with 3 pumps of Caramel syrup, 3 pumps of Toffee Nut syrup, topped with whipped cream and caramel drizzle. They advise you to order the Frappuccino made with WHOLE milk instead of Skim or 2% milk for the right consistency, but if you're dairy-free like me, do Soymilk & no whip. It may make it a little less thick, but hey, that's not going to stop me from my Butterbeer dreams! You can tweak the recipe to your liking, and there are tons of other versions online, so try them all!

Favorite Beauty Product: "TRICK & TREATMENT" by Soap & Glory

You know those times when you're really tired and worn out? Or maybe you just LOOK really tired and worn out, with some Fester Addams-looking dark circles, puffy eyes, or fine lines? These are times you need TRICK & TREATMENT. It's a magical light-reflecting, under-eye concealer/brightener. It has a yellow pigment mix that neutralizes dark under eye circles. It also helps brighten and fix those "not-so fine" lines. If you're like me and don't ever seem to get much sleep and constantly have to fight dark circles, you need this stuff! Ever since I started using this stuff, it's really helped! You can find it at many beauty stores, or online.

Favorite August Clothing Line: BB DAKOTA

I've been a fan of BB DAKOTA for such a long time now. They always seem to have the most unique prints, cuts, designs and they're such great quality. The clothes are actually designed by mother-daughter team, which is pretty cool. I think if my Mom and I ever decided to design clothes it would end up being a mix of rhinestone dolphins (mom), cat prints (me), flowers (mom), and everything would be pink (mom) and leopard....(me) haha. BB DAKOTA has this really young, fun and quirky, yet modern-woman vibe about them, so it appeals to literally everyone. I'm wearing something from their Fall line pictured below. You can find BB Dakota in the US and internationally in department stores and boutiques!

Favorite August Snack: KIND BARS

Maybe you've seen them at the grocery store. Maybe you've wanted to try them but you haven't yet because some snack bars can be chalky, too sugary, straight up gross, or really fattening/actually bad for you. These are not ANY of those things. KIND Bars are made from all-natural whole fruits, nuts, and whole grains. Nothing artificial, gluten-free, full of protein, fiber, and antioxidants. Did I mention that they're freaking delicious and taste more like something "bad" than something "healthy" ? They also make granola, which I haven't had the chance to try, but I'm anxious to. My favorite bars are the "Blueberry Pecan+fiber," "Peanut Butter and Strawberry (it's like a glorified PB&J Sandwich!)" and the "Dark Chocolate Nuts & Sea Salt." So definitely make a point to try a couple of them out!
