Alter The Press! Presents: Vera Cruz

Hailing from France, Vera Cruz are slowly making a name for themselves with their brand intense adrenaline-filled, fast-paced hard rock. Having spent the summer touring America, the four-piece are back in Europe with shows alongside Every Time I Die and All Shall Perish. Next month they arrive in the UK to tour with Cancer Bats and Trash Talk. In addition their free EP, 'Surviving Farrah Fawcett' is a four-track beast with thrashing guitars, fierce vocals and pounding drums from start to finish. With an addiction to touring and overall hard work ethic, expect to see more of Vera Cruz in the coming months.

For Fans Of: Cancer Bats, Every Time I Die, Refused, Sick Of It All, Converge and Black Flag.

Alter The Press: Why should Alter The Press! readers check you out?
Vera Cruz: ‘Coz we feel like they need some new powerful material to stuff their ears with! We’re some fresh blood whose action on stage prevails over marketed poses! We wanna take people off the beaten paths and not bring’em back. But less talk, more rock!

ATP: What's the story behind the band?
VC: 4 dudes with former (deceiving) experiences with long-gone bands in search of a new fix. We cut the crap and got to work on the spot. An EP (that’s downloadable for free!) came out of this and we immediately did a 3 week tour in the USA which is rather uncanny for a French band. The almighty Gods of Metal were kind enough to decide we could prove ourselves with the Hell On Earth Tour in Europe (with Every Time I Die, Terror, All Shall Perish and many more) for a month/ Then came the UK Tour with the talented Cancer Bats and the rising Trash Talk. The story behind the band is basically 4 dudes with a craving for touring their asses off that are lucky enough to actually do it.

ATP: Single highlight as a band so far?
VC: Our American East Coast Tour, that’s a no-brainer but best memories are yet to be built.

ATP: What are your plans for the 12 months?
VC: The Hell On Earth Tour from Sept. 17th to Oct. 17th, then the UK Tour with Cancer Bats & Trash Talk from Oct. 27th to Nov. 7th. Then we have two pretty bigass Euro Tours in December and in February but I don’t think it’s our place to announce what it is now, the headlining bands will do so in a while and next summer we’re back in the US. The icing on the cake is yet to be announced but it’s gonna be the biggest thing we’ve ever been involved with.

'Surviving Farrah Fawcett' is available now and can be downloaded here.
