Alter The Press! Presents: One Last Time

Despite starting out as pop-punk band, it didn't take long for Scranton, Pennsylvania's One Last Time to discover that a mix between aggressive metal and hardcore was more their style.

Their new EP, 'Fall To Rise' is filled with pounding drums and destructive riffs and has led the band to play shows alongside Texas In July, The Sleeping, Otep, IWrestledABearOnce and several other established bands. It has given the band confidence and the means to move towards bigger things.

Alter The Press: Why should Alter The Press! readers check you out?
One Last Time: Alter the Press! readers should check us out if they are into passionate bands who create only because they love doing so. Readers should also look into us if they are into heavy music that incorporates singing, catchy riffs, and heartfelt lyrics with a positive message, all with the intensity to let out anger. We love what we do and most importantly we love to bond and meet our fans. Again, we are in this to have as much fun as possible, so meeting anyone who supports us is a tremendous honor.

ATP: What's the story behind the band?
OLT: We started out as a pop punk band back in November of last year (2009). We realized every song kept getting better, and heavier. We eventually fell in love with our musical style and have stuck with it. We all come from different backgrounds and have been in musical projects for the last 5 years. Kenneth, our singer has been raised to be a musician. His mother sang and toured all throughout his life. Our drummer Jamie and guitarist Mark both were in a local band together called Aesthetic. Justin and I (Jerry) were both in projects with each other. In early September of 2009 Kenny and I met Jamie, we discussed doing something, and we tried it out. I naturally called Justin, and Jamie called up Mark, so it worked out amazingly. We consider each other family now; it’s so odd how well we work. The name came from a friend of ours, and we fell in love with the idea of “One Last Time”. We consider it a motto to keep us as exited for this band as we were day one. If we all live, write, come in and hang out with each other, and practice like it’s our last time to do so, we mind as well have fun with it.

ATP: Single highlight as a band so far?
OLT: Our single highlight this year was having the honor to come in second place and winning a spot on a local event, “Big Giant and The Extravaganza” which featured bands like White Chapel, Hawthorne Heights, and Oceano. This spot was won after only being a band for four months. It was such an amazing feeling.

ATP: What are your plans for the 12 months?
OLT: We plan on releasing our very first EP named “Fall to Rise” this November, developing more of a following around other parts of PA, and expanding further out of state. We hope to travel the east coast this summer and meet as many new people, bands, and supporters as we can.
