Alter The Press! Presents: Brooke

"We are a statement of confidence in what we do, with bright ideas .. and a crisp, tireless sound. Say hello to your new favourite pop-rock band." Like any band, Pembrokeshire's Brooke are full of confidence but after a superb 12 months you can't blame them. With their first EP, 'The Softest Touch', the four-piece mix US-influenced pop-rock and add accessible, favorable hooks. Like the band said, it is a sound that crisp and instantly likable.

Having finished off the second half of 2010 touring the UK with Framing Hanley and Just Surrender, Brooke are set for bigger things in 2011 with new single, 'Every Night' just being a start. Whilst the bands plans are somewhat secretive, with bold, catchy tracks like 'Every Night' their potential is high.

For Fans Of: Blink-182, Mayday Parade and All Time Low.

Alter The Press: Why should Alter The Press! readers check you out?
Brooke: We've been Brooke now since December 2009 and we are an energetic power pop band from all the way down south in Pembrokeshire. Being stuck down here means that it's really hard to get our music out there to all you lovely people! The only way we've found easy is by touring and we've just accumulated so many new friends and we're willing to make so many more! So if you love coming to gigs and hanging out with bands, then come see us and we'll all have a laugh! We promise!

ATP: What's the story behind the band?
Brooke: Alex, Burder and I we're in a band back in 2009 and we thought we needed to mature our music more as this was about the time our drummer left. So Alex rang me up one day and just came out with a new name (Brooke) and possibly a new drummer, Gav. Gav was a friend we'd made when we went out on our first tour as our old band and he was definately up for it! So this was the band line up accomplished. Alex had loads of new ideas for new songs and as soon as we all heard them, it was instant! So since then we've been practising and writing new tunes which we can't wait for you all to hear!

ATP: Single highlight as a band so far?
Brooke: We went on an eight day tour with Framing Hanley and Just Surrender and that was the best thing we've done. It included venues like Birmingham O2 Academy 2, Leeds Cockpit and London Underworld which were amazing venues to play. We made so many friends on that tour it's unbelievable. We caught up with the FH boys when we went to see them play the K! Tour in Cardiff. Good times too!

ATP: What are your plans for the 12 months?
Brooke: Our plans for the next 12 months are currently under wraps but we're always writing new stuff so we'll hopefully have something new for you the end of this year! We have more to come in 2011, so stay tuned!
