Alter The Press! Presents: Call It Karma

Since forming in February of 2009, Royal Oak, Michigan post-hardcore/screamo band Call It Karma have played with the likes of We Came As Romans, I See Stars, Eyes Set To Kill, Crime in Stereo, Before Their Eyes, Memphis May Fire, and Confide.

Add to that two EPs in the form of 'Oblivion's at Hand' and 'Good Morning, Insomnia', Call It Karma combine pounding metalcore riffs with occasional electronic elements and soaring carouses. Whilst the bands heavy side has seen comparisons to We Came As Romans, their melodic approach is similar to that of Chiodcos and Circa Survive.

For Fans Of: Circa Survive, Tides of Man, Chiodos and We Came As Romans.

Alter The Press: Why should Alter The Press! readers check you out?
Call It Karma: We're a bunch of crazy fun guys that love to make music different from a lot of whats out there right now! We have an amazing live show and presence, as well as a massive appreciation for our fans who we consider family. So no matter what you really can't lose. We may seem serious from time to time, but we're all really goofy down to earth people who would love to share their passion with everyone!

ATP: What's the story behind the band?
CIK: We were all of course, like everyone else in bands, in a couple starter groups mostly pop, ska, and maybe some man rock even. Eventually Ross, Johnny, Matt, myself (Dennis), and our friend Sam decided to start a new kind of band. After picking up Sean we wrote and recorded our first EP "Oblivion's At Hand". After playing a ton of shows, touring a little, and selling CD's, we replaced our former drummer Sam with Eric and started writing new songs. We definitely picked up speed and have been riding the wave ever since. We fell in love with playing for people and decided to really make this our life. We recorded our new Ep "Good Morning, Insomnia" and had a ball doin it. This is what we do and we love every second.

ATP: Single highlight as a band so far?
CIK: putting out this new EP has been probably the biggest highlight for us at least. Its really gotten our music out there and people seem to be reacting really well to it. "Good Morning, Insomnia" really shows what we've been up to and how we've over all progressed from our first EP to where we are now. We couldn't be happier with how the songs turned out and how much support we're getting from everyone around us. Its really an amazing feeling none of us can describe.

ATP: What are your plans for the 12 months?
CIK: We plan on releasing our hard copy of "Good Morning, Insomnia" in late February that will include 2 new tracks not yet names. After that, we really just plan on touring, writing more, and pushing our new EP hard.
