Alter The Press! Presents: A Shipwreck A Castaway

Self-described Star Wars nerds, A Shipwreck A Castaway are set for bigger things with their forthcoming EP, 'Life In General'. The Riverside, CA hardcore influenced pop-punk band have played alongside bands such as The Wonder Years, Man Overboard, Transit, Such Gold and more perfecting their style.

Tracks like 'More Machine Than Man' sees the six-piece blending the hardcore meets pop-punk sound superbly; catchy songs, energetic rhythms and tight melodies. As a result of their hard work and strong friendship, the band signed to Anchor Eighty Four Records late last year and are set to release 'Life In General' later this month.

For Fans Of: A Day To Remember, New Found Glory and The Wonder Years.

Alter The Press: Why should Alter The Press! readers check you out?
A Shipwreck A Castaway: Because we're awesome dudes who make music that remind you exactly why you keep your friends around.

ATP: What's the story behind the band?
ASAC: Pretty much, we're six nerds who love Stars Wars more than is probably healthy, eat enough Mexican food to give us all clogged coronary artery disease and writing pop punk blended with our own unique flairs. We all come from different backgrounds, from a guitarist who's favorite band is Guns N Roses, to our love of Jawbreaker and Bayside, to a singer who's also in a melodic hardcore band. We're best friends and we write music that is brutally honest. We try to write positive music to remind people about how good life can be even when they're down. We want to remind people that you will always have friends, through the bad times and the good.

ATP: Single highlight as a band so far?
ASAC: Playing The Wonder Years CD release show. That was the first time we played with a bigger pop-punk band, and it gave us a very positive reaction to keep on keepin' on.

ATP: What are your plans for the 12 months?
ASAC: Over the next 12 months we will be touring across the US in support of our new EP 'Life In General' which comes out Feb 22nd on Anchor Eighty Four Records, working to make money in our down time so that we can tour more, and writing new music for our next release.

'Life In General' by A Shipwreck A Castaway is released on February 22nd through Anchor Eighty Four Records.
