Alter The Press! Presents: Those Mockingbirds

new Jersey's Those Mockingbirds combine the violin-led sounds of Arcade Fire and combine it with a US indie rock twist. Tracks like 'Honest? Honest' shows the bands confident and swaggering manner, that has led the band to tour with the bands such as The Gay Blades. Whereas 'We Are The Antidote' shows the bands atmospheric side.

With an approachable yet loose sound, expect Those Mockingbirds to be popping in the coming months.

For Fans Of: Arcade Fire, Smashing Pumpkins and Silverchair.

ATP: Why should Alter The Press! readers check you out?
Those Mockingbirds: Alter The Press readers should check out Those Mockingbirds because we have dual violin and guitar solos. It gets pretty wild over here between that and the piano, oh and male/female duets and harmonies, we've got plenty of those. Basically, if your high schools biggest theatre nerd was a band... it would be us.

ATP: What's the story behind the band?
TM: Those Mockingbirds started in late 2009 and by spring 2010 released an EP with SideCho Media. It debuted at #1 on the Amazon Movers & Shakers charts. The band toured and promoted the EP with lots of video content, such as a kidnapping of the Numa Numa Guy (savenuma.com) and a naked music video for the single "Honest? Honest." Those Mockingbirds just released a free download of their cover of Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain" and will be hitting the studio again after a tour with The Gay Blades.

ATP: Single highlight as a band so far?
TM: We recently filmed an episode of Fearless Music on FOX. We have all grown up watching our favorites play on that show, and it seems to have become a milemarker in a bands progress. So, to be invited to perform was a huge honor for us that we wont forget.

ATP: What are your plans for the next 12 months?
TM: We have alot of new music being written and recorded right now, so most of that will come out over the course of this year. In addition to recording, we will be hitting the road, numerous times I'm sure, to promote said music, starting with a tour supporting the Gay Blades in February. I also am willing to bet we will finally come to peace with the Numa Guy and finally release him back into the wild. He's been on good behavior lately.
