The Motorcycle Industry Post Update

The Motorcycle Industry have posted an update regarding their new bassist, Brooks Plummer and the release of their new EP, 'The Only Friends Worth Having'.

Front man, John Langhan, made the following statement:

"So the day is finally upon us. Our new EP, "The Only Friends Worth Having" is available for download. You've heard about it on all the news sites, read some generally favorable reviews of it and have probably already had it on your computer for like two months. Whatever the case, the 7" version or digital-only version can be purchased here:

We know this EP has been a long time coming, but if you've got the cash grab a copy from Audubon. They worked really hard on the release and are trying to get their label off the ground. However, if you end up getting it through some other means, make sure you do something nice in return, like helping your mom bring in the groceries.

Onto some equally sweet news: we finally have a new bass player. His name is Brooks Plummer and is featured in our super fancy new promo pictures. He, too, lives in the wonderful borough of Brooklyn, which means all four band members are now officially within one G stop of each other. Brooks will be playing all future shows with us and is taller than everyone in the band.

Other than that - we are always down to play your basement or Vets Hall or whatever. We're only a myspace message away.

Take care and enjoy the new songs!"

Album Review: The Motorcycle Industry - The Only Friends Worth Having

It's not everyday that you'd expect to find your new favorite band sitting on your doorstep. From the day I received The Motorcycle Industry's full-length, in late 2008, the Brooklyn three piece set the bar pretty high, until now. ‘The Only Friends Worth Having’ EP is four tracks of pure ear candy.

Opener, ‘Paul Newman and a Ride Home,’ with its contagious harmonies of, ‘Once your gone, you're gone for good,’ by front man John Langan, is so infectious that it'll be stuck in your head for days. With guitarist, Michael Weiss', Back To The Future style solo, after the second chorus, you’ll think you were riding in the DeLorean with Doc Brown, being transported back to 1985.
