The show takes place at Brixton Windmill, London on July 9th.

Alcopop Records New Slang Show with Stagecoach, ute, the Attika State, My First Tooth and Freeze The Atlantic

Alcopop Records will be curating the first show of 2011's Banquet Records' New Slang club night on January 6th.

The night will see performances from Stagecoach, Ute, The Attika State, Freeze The Atlantic and My First Tooth, as well a DJ's.

Album Review: The Attika State - Measures

London/Bristol band, The Attika State's latest effort 'Measures' is a record that will surely brighten up the cold winter nights, as it proves to be a favourable slice indie pop-rock. The opening piano notes of '5 Strings, No Wins' settles you in, before upbeat guitars bring the track alive, whilst Rudi Barella's great vocals stand out greatly. 'The Horton Shuffle' keeps up the momentum, with a bouncy tempo and the occasional gang vocal, which when all brought together produces a highly favourable sound that you can't help but enjoy.

It quickly comes to realisation, that The Attika State have a great understanding of indie pop-rock, as they deliver track after track of feel-good hook-filled numbers. From the choppy 'Celebration' to 'Story Tellers Fold', which has a slight Saves The Day vibe but with a British tone, to the bass-driven 'Sounds of the Stereo'.
