ATP! Album Review: The Ready Set – The Bad & The Better

Jordan Witzigreuter, better known as The Ready Set, is finally releasing a new album for the first time in three years. The Ready Set’s debut album, I'm Alive, I'm Dreaming, came out in 2010 with insanely catchy hits like “Love Like Woe,” that got a decent amount of airplay. His new release, The Bad & The Better isn’t a game changer, but isn’t quite a dud either.

Two years ago, Witzigreuter premiered “Give Me Your Hand (Best Song Ever)” while on tour with Boys Like Girls, giving us a taste of what was to come on his next album. It’s a party song with playful lyrics that could get anyone amped up, keeping up with his fun and happy past releases. It’s obvious that “Give Me Your Hand” was written long before the other tracks on The Bad & The Better with only one listen.

ATP! Interview: The Ready Set

The Ready Set, or rather, Jordan Witzgreuter, is most widely known for his 2010 hit ‘Love Like Woe’, but it would be wrong to say that’s all the Indiana native has going for him. Since the release of ‘Love Like Woe’ and his major label debut, Witzgreuter has toured with the likes of All Time Low, Hey Monday, The All-American Rejects and Boys Like Girls to name a few, as well as released his Feel Good Now EP. Not to mention he’s released several singles and written a song dedicated to Taylor Swift. In the lamest of terms, while he hasn’t dropped a full-length in a few years, he’s been keeping himself busy. But 2013 is shaping up to be his year, as it seems that fans can look forward to not only a full-length, but also an EP if Witzgreuter has his way. Pair that with the tour he just set out on, and chances are you’ll be hearing about The Ready Set quite often within the next few months. So while he is on tour and writing up some final tunes for his next album, Witzgreuter took the time from his schedule to speak with Alter The Press about what we can expect from this tour, choosing songs for the next release and Warped Tour possibilities.
