Tubelord have signed to Pink Mist, and will release a new album titled, 'Romance', on October 10th.

Album Review: Tubelord - Tezcatlipōca EP

When Tubelord announced their new EP revolved around Aztec mythology, and the story of three characters that use obsidian mirror necklaces to travel through space to recapture time, you had the right to step back and look slightly bemused while you tried to pronounce ‘tehs-cah-tlee-poh’-cah’. But luckily, no matter how farfetched the scopes of their ideas are for this EP they have remained grounded, if you were afraid of pretentious 13 minute prog odyssey’s then relax, the longest track is just over 3 minutes. And sitting at around the 9 minute mark 'Tezcatlipōca' is incredibly short but quite wonderful.

Opening track ‘Arbour’ begins so delicately with Joseph Prendergasts soft vocals, which throughout the EP are as interesting and erratic as the music itself. But the track soon builds and in true Tubelord fashion it ebbs and sways before breaking into an array of great harmonies as the full band now kicks in, the addition of two new members is clearly noticeable, when everything comes together the sound feels so broad and satisfyingly complete.

Tubelord To Host London And Leeds Exhibitions

With the lead up to Tubelord's debut album 'Our First American Friends', the band have been working hard on their own 'Rainboliatric' project.

The project was started hand-in-hand with their new single ‘Propeller’ (out 28th Sept) where 500 blank 7” sleeves for the vinyl were ordered, split up, re-packaged and shipped out to various artists from around the world, all of whom were hand-picked by the band. Each of the 500 sleeves has been returned back to sender and all created individually. Each sleeve is different and unique.

All 500 sleeves next week will be exhibited in London and Leeds with some of the artists set to appear. They are open to the general public and admission is free. Tubelord are set to play an acoustic set at each exhibition.

The exhibitions will take place at

Sunday 27th - Leeds, The Nation Of Shopkeepers (4pm till late)
Tuesday 29th - London, Camden The Lock Tavern, (8pm till late)

Every attendee will recieve a free screen printed poster too.

Tubelord Announce New Album and Limited Edition 7'' Single

Tubelord will release their new album, ‘Our First American Friends’ on October 12th on Hassle Records.

The first single from the album, 'Propeller' will be released on September 28th, on limited edition 7" (500 copies only).

Each seven-inch single boasts a design by an artist from a collective hand-picked by Tubelord frontman Jo Prendergast, with the artwork inspired by the song’s lyrics and art concept. The pieces of art, as well as some artists, will take part in an exhibition being held to showcase the single as well as the collective effort by people from across the UK and Europe. The London exhibition will take place at The Lock Tavern (sept 29th) and the Leeds one will appear at Nation Of Shopkeepers (sept 27th). Each piece of artwork can also be seen here.
