Album Review: Vessels - Helioscope
Carrying on the post-rock torch that has been held by Mogwai & Explosions in the Sky. Vessels bring forth a rich ambient soundscape for their second effort, ‘Helioscope’. ‘Monoform’ starts out as a skipping synthesizer, passing between two notes until a distorted synth riff accompanied by a pounding drum beat showcases the main melody, ‘Monoform’ really showcases Tim Mitchell’s dynamic range. It isn’t until the song gets to the four minute mark where things really start to get interested, after a filtered synth floods your speakers, a wall of guitars shatters the barriers of your ear drum and with 4 guitarists in this band, it’s hardly surprising.Free Vessels Song and Remix
Two free Vessels tracks; 'Recur' and a remix of 'Meatman' by Rolo Tomassi are available to download for free below.'Helioscope' is released on March 21st.

Single Review Round-Up: We Are Enfant Terrible, Vessels and Little Fish
We Are Enfant Terrible - Wild Child/Flesh 'n' Blood KidsReleased on December 6th through Last Gang Records.
I'll admit French electro-pop isn't something we mention much of on this site, if at all. We Are Enfant Terrible are the kinda act that some "hipsters" would be raving about and be labelling as the one of the underground acts of 2010. Thankfully that's not us.
Whilst this double a-side does have some appeal; 'Wild Child' is a buzzy synth electro number that is passable and has a scrappy undertone, courtesy of vocalist Clo Floret. Whereas 'Flesh 'n' Blood Kids' is dominated by 8-bit beeps and the occasional indie guitar stroke, but ultimately the trio create a sound that is scarce and quickly becomes dull.
