Katy Perry Announces New Album 'Witness' and North American Arena Tour

Katy Perry announced today (May 15) that she will release her new album Witness on June 9th via Capitol Records.

With Witness, Katy reflects on the changes in her own life and in the world around her, delivering songs that both challenge and inspire. The singles released thus far - the Platinum-certified "Chained to the Rhythm" featuring Skip Marley and the follow-up single, "Bon Appétit" featuring Migos - hint at the breadth of the musical and thematic elements found on Witness.

On Friday (May 12), Katy Perry released a music video for her latest single "Bon Appétit," featuring Migos.

The visual was directed by Dent De Cuir, a Paris and Montreal-based filmmaker collective specializing in art direction, design and visuals arts, as well as conceptual visual language.

Katy Perry's Management Dismiss "1984" Song Rumors

According to a specious story making the online rounds like wildfire yesterday, Katy Perry registered a new song called "1984" with music-licensing organization BMI. Given the similarity between "1984" and the title of a hit album from a separate pop star whose recent No. 1 hit is rumored to be about Perry (again, by the Internet), people exploded with rabid speculation that this alleged "1984" track was a response song of sorts.

At least, that's according to random people on the Internet. But according to Perry's managers, that's totally false.

Katy Perry Super Bowl XLIX Halftime Performance

With the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks providing fireworks at the end of the first half of Super Bowl XLIX, Katy Perry brought some too, literally.

The mega-pop star showed off her patented-blend of soft-serve sexiness at the Super Bowl halftime show, performing a medley of her biggest hits that ended with her hit "Firework," which came complete with pyrotechnics and Perry rising stories above the field to sing the song.

Billboard is reporting that Katy Perry will perform at this year's Super Bowl halftime show.

In response, appearing on ESPN's College Game Day this past Saturday, Perry said, "I'm not the kind of girl who would pay to play the Super Bowl."

Katy Perry Launches Record Label Metamorphosis Music

Katy Perry has started a record label, Metamorphosis Music, a partnership with Capitol Records.

The singer announced today (June 17th) the signing of pop singer Ferras, as her first artist.

The Jordanian singer-songwriter's new self-titled EP, which was produced by Perry, was released digitally today. In support of the release, Ferras will appear as the support artist on Katy's upcoming North American tour dates, which can be found here.

The lineup for BBC Radio One's Big Weekend has been announced today (April 28th) and it couldn't be more amazing.

One Direction, Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran, Kings Of Leon, The Vamps and Lily Allen are among the few who are confirmed to play the radio station's free annual music extravaganza on May 24th and 25th.

Other acts confirmed to play include Bastille, John Newman, Jake Bugg, Tinie Tempah and Kasabian.
