Alex Johnson Leaves The Cab

The Cab have announced that drummer Alex Johnson has left the band.

Front man, Alexander Deleon made the following statement:

"We love and will always love Alex Johnson. It was not a decision The Cab wanted to make or that we saw coming and we truly regret that it came down to this. Lifestyle choices were made that didn't line up with all of the work that we were putting into the record. Those choices did not represent our band and what we believe in and do. We wish Alex the best of luck and happiness in the future and we will always be here for him if he needs us. Hopefully we can play music again together someday. More new music will be out soon for you guys to hear and we cannot wait to see you guys on the road in August. We love you guys so much. Thanks for the continued support."

Broadway Calls Bassist/Vocalist Kicked Out

Broadway Calls bassist/vocalist Matt Koenig has been kicked out of the band. Adam Willis, formerly of Countdown to Life, will replace Koenig.

Koenig told PunkNews.org:

"Hello today, it's Matt Koenig here to break the sad sad news that i am no longer in Broadway Calls. I was asked to leave the band on the basis that I was decidedly no longer friends with the other band members, that my playing was "barely passable" and my "lack of song writing contribution". So that's that. People change, sometimes for better, sometimes for worse. i find the whole thing unfortunate. My opinion is that i was an equally contributing member of the band i loved so much. I now get to focus on better things in my life.

I'm in no way done playing music, as I've already started a few bands with my friends around Portland. I'll be attending this years Fest in Gainsville, sure I'll see plenty of you there. But for now I'll put the focus of my life on my family and my wonderful new wife.

Over the past 4 and a half years I've met countless amazing people, too many to name but some of which are now my closest friends. Played hundreds of shows. Had dreams come true by touring with some of my favorite bands, and seeing more of the US and Canada then I would have ever hoped. Also, visiting Europe 4 times over was equally astounding as it was humbling. Getting to work with Adeline and Side One Dummy Records as well as Blasting Room Studios was an honor. An especially large 'thank you' to all of the people at those camps, without you this would have been a much different trip. And to anyone and everyone i met along the way, Thank you. I am forever changed. I now leave you with this, a fitting quote that i believe describes my time in BC perfectly, said by a much more well spoken man than myself...

Jeff Goldblum - "God creates dinosaurs. God destroys dinosaurs. God creates man. Man destroys God. Man creates dinosaurs." Thanks friends."

Drummer Josh Baird has confirmed the departure.

Punchline Kick Out Drummer

Punchline have kicked out drummer Pat Dee.

Message from Dee:

"Hello everyone. On Wednesday morning, I got a phone call that informed me that I was kicked out of Punchline. This came as a huge, unpleasant surprise to me. I really enjoyed the 3 tours, 81 shows, and 30-some states I got to see. Thanks to everyone who made it a cool year. No thanks to anyone who made it come to this. I’ll see you around.
Patrick James Dee"

The Word Alive Kick Out Drummer

The Word Alive have kicked drummer Tony Aguilera from the band.

Statement from The Word Alive:

“We will announce the real reasons behind everything soon, all we can hope is that people will be understanding and patient enough to wait, as well as understanding enough to know we would never do something we didn’t feel was the best for TWA. All decisions are made as a group, and there’s so much misinformation floating around. It’s disheartening to see several fans attacking us without having heard the full story. Hopefully our true fans will understand; the ones who don’t, we apologize.”
