Stars & Sons - 'If It's Good For Me'Released on April 12th on Twice Burnt Records
Stars and Sons' piano-based indie-pop is on display with 'If It's Good For Me', a upbeat, jazz-influenced number that bounces along at a happy pace, that can be compared to Scouting For Girls. However Stars and Sons are far more creditable and acceptable.

Stars and Sons Set To Release Limited 7"
Stars and Sons are set to release a Limited 7" called "In the Ocean" this Monday (November 17th) on Alcopop Records.The video for "In the Ocean" can be seen here.

Stars and Sons is the dazed but loveable brainchild of Mike Lord. After a long summer spent serving melting ice-cream to satanic children at Colchester zoo, Lord realized he would have to do everything within his grasp to avoid employment. Employers nationwide seemed to agree with this as he was first rejected from Sainsburys then B&Q the following month. He retreated back to his bedroom, tail between legs and started writing and recording.

Debut single In the Ocean is like an Elliot Smith meets Dennis Wilson mini-opus - all layered hand claps and minor chords around Lord's beguiling falsetto. Accompanying the single is a phantasmagoric DIY video that takes in an underwater dance scene with Scarlett Johanson and climaxes with Lord being tossed from a wardrobe into the sea. With plaudits ranging from Jonathan Ross through Zane Lowe to Huw Stephens, and fresh from a support tour with Okkervil River, the single is making a massive impact.
