Feature: Slam Dunk Festival 2010 Preview - Atticus/Jagermeister Stage

Atticus/Jagermeister Stage
Words by Sean Reid

Alkaline Trio
With a career spanning seven albums and countless other releases, AlkalIne Trio headline the Jagermeister / Atticus Stage with a sinister yet humours tone that is sure to please the SD festival crowd. From 'This Addicition' to 'Stupid Kid' to 'Maybe I'll Catch Fire', expect plenty of sing-a-long moments with this classic punk trio.

Stage Times:
Hatfield: 9:25
Leeds: 9:00

Recommended: 'This Addicition'

Against Me!
Against Me! Continue to build the hype of new album, 'White Crosses', with an appearance SD. Their somewhat polished folk punk sound mixed with a rapturous live show has the potential to be one of the festival's highlights. Against Me! continue to please fans, old and new, and Slam Dunk will be no different.

Stage Times:
Hatfield: 8:20
Leeds: 7:55

Recommended: 'I Was a Teenage Anarchist'

We Are The Ocean
Slam Dunk regulars We Are The Ocean will provide a slightly heaver side to the Atticus/Jagermeister Stage, with their post-hardcore style, that has seen the band play alongside the likes of You Me At Six, The Used, Funeral For A Friend, and Underoath. Their rise over the last few years was capped off this year, with the release of 'Cutting Our Teeth'.

Stage Times:
Hatfield: 7:15
Leeds: 6:50

Recommended: 'Our Days Are Numbered'

Rolo Tomassi
With recent release of the brilliant 'Cosmology' just gone, Sheffield's Rolo Tomassi's electronic-fused mathcore brings a sense of chaos to the Atticus/Jagermeister Stage. A sweaty, crazy performance of Eve Spence and company is expected.

Stage Times:
Hatfield: 6:15
Leeds: 5:55

Recommended: 'Party Wounds'

Young Guns
With the release of debut album 'All Our Kings Are Dead' set for July, Young Guns will be wanting to leave a lasting impression at Slam Dunk; the first of many festival appearances for the band this summer. Their through and through alt-rock sound is surely to get a good response.

Stage Times:
Hatfield: 5:15
Leeds: 5:05

Moneen
Canada's Moneen head back to the UK for SD and as one of the best underground Alt-Rock bands going, a set filled with Kenny Bridges' entertaining and brilliant stage presence, and backed by a strong back catalogue including cuts from the highly impressive 'The World I Want to Leave Behind'. Moneen will provide a pleasing set that could well provide one of the festivals highlights.

Stage Times:
Hatfield: 4:20
Leeds: 4:15

Recommneded: 'Hold That Sound'

Save Your Breath
Welsh pop-punkers Save Your Breath continue their rise with an opening slow on the Jagermeister/Atticus Stage. Being labelled as one of the most "promising pop-punk bands" at present, we're sure SYB will live up to expectations with tracks like 'Sink or Swim' and 'Stay Young' showing as style that is near-perfect for Slam Dunk and will definitely win over new fans.

Stage Times:
Hatfield: 3:25
Leeds: 3:25

Recommended: 'Sink or Swim'
