Drenched is inspiring guitar lines, and an all-round grand vibe, Kill Cassidy have mixed up sensible pop rhythms with intricate indie rock to create a feel-good and inspiring sound, that is refreshing and promising.

For Fans Of: Grammatics, Mew, Biffy Clyro and Mansun.

Alter The Press: Why should Alter The Press! readers check you out?
Kill Cassidy: Because our music means the world to us, and we're just finishing a record that we couldn't be more proud of. We're not some neon-wearing, dubstep remixed two minute fad, and live we make a fucking racket. And we write apocalypse pop with widescreen ambition. With a made up tag like that, who wouldn't wanna check us out?! Haha.

ATP: What's the story behind the band?
KC: I saw an ad in a 50s boutique from our guitarist Martino. I'd not played in a live band since school that even gigged, and I said to myself that if I don't end of playing with this guitarist then I'd sack it off and be a dj or an official club photographer or summat. Martino had played with Tenner & XisLoaded, two bands I'd always admired. Guess it was meant to be. I met Miles in a park frequented by undesirables at 3am carrying a vat of punch I'd stolen from a club after the promoter legged it without paying me. Dan was found after what seemed like months of godawful auditions. He was worth the wait.

ATP: Single highlight as a band so far?
KC: Releasing our debut 7" through Sugar Shack Records. It's been a personal ambition to one day put out a vinyl release, and its finally here. I told my careers advisor and head of year during my GCSEs that i wanted to be a popstar - they had grand ambitions for me at Oxbridge or some nonsense - so it's been a while coming.

ATP: What are your plans for the 12 months?
KC: Releasing our debut single on October 18th, touring the single and then the release of our second single 'Animals', and our debut album next year. I'm doing the last of the vocals this weekend in a converted barn. It feels like it really could be our time now, we're finally in the position where we are happy with our sound and songs.

'14:11 / Everyone To the Dancemat' by Kill Cassidy is available now through Sugar Shack Records.
