Alter The Press! Presents: Amy Can Flyy

With a helpless affection for pop music and several tours all over the UK already on their CV, Bournemouth's Amy Can Flyy have been been winning fans over for awhile now. As tracks like 'Dinosaurs Go Rawr' and 'Go Go Gadget Happy Heart' has led the band to produce fun-filled tracks, with their mix of pop-punk and subtle use of synths.

With a UK tour happening in the near future, along with a remix EP, Amy Can Flyy are set to continue their rise with plenty of catchy hooks and shamelessly fun numbers.

For Fans Of: All Time Low, Motion City Soundtrack and The All American Rejects.

Alter The Press: Why should Alter The Press! readers check you out?
Amy Can Flyy: We have always said we are a pop band, but I think people hold too much of a negative attatchment to the word "Pop". We pride ourselves on doing our best to write catchy songs that everyone's going to have a good time listening to however at the same time we find it difficult to seperate ourselves from the content in our songs, the lyrical content of our new material we are in the process of writing is very much all about us and key events and happenings of our own lives in the last few years. I guess you could call us a shameless pop band with our best attempt at making a honest take on things.

Most of us grew up listening to the American punk bands like Descendants,Bad Religion and all the other bands in that scene as a result I think we learnt how to carry ourselves from those bands. Alot of pop acts will come under the critical eye for the most part, as they are just jumping around on stage to there own CD, thats certainly something our band have never considered. We love playing shows more than anything and put alot into our live show and are always trying to push the energy up as much as we can. Hopefully people will come down to our Novemeber/December tour dates and check us out so they can make up there own mind.

ATP: What's the story behind the band?
ACF: We were all friends through school or playing music in other bands and I guess the line-up just fell into place three years ago. We had a few different bass players in the last few years but Tom; our newest member, has always been a key part of our band without being in the band, so it made sense for him to join. We are all confident that the new line-up is the best it can be and can't wait to tour more with it.

ATP: Single highlight as a band so far?
ACF: I can only really speak for myself (Chris) but seeing myself on TV was one of the wierdest yet coolest things to date.

ATP: What are your plans for the 12 months?
ACF: We head out on a full Uk tour in November/December which will be in attatchment with our "Remixed" EP release on December 1st. We are still in the process of recording our brand new EP, which will be released early next year sometime. We intend to tour as much as possible and have plans to head back to Europe and possibly some other countries in March of next year, hopefully everyone can come down and check us out at one of those shows in the future.

'Remix EP' by Amy Can Flyy is released on December 1st.
