William Beckett Speaks Out About The Academy Is.. Line-Up Changes

A new interview with William Beckett of The Academy Is… speaking about the band's new album and recent line-up changes can be read here.

From the interview:

"It’s a divide, you know, it’s basically just a natural progression of people at different places in their lives with different goals. And there’s absolutely no animosity. We’ve known it was coming for a while; we took some time after that tour to decompress and sort of reevaluate ourselves and where we were going to head with the record and what we wanted exactly. We had written a bunch of songs on that tour that we liked a lot.

Basically, we came to a crossroads in our lives: Michael got married and he wanted to focus on production and co-writing, and to be honest, he came into the band on [2007’s] Santi to help us progress in sound and help us finish that record. So it’s kind of a natural thing for him to move on. Particularly with the nucleus of our band, the writing has always come from Mike [Carden] and I.

As far as Andy goes, he really just wants to focus on the Animal Upstairs and being the captain of his own ship. We support him, and I’ll always be his biggest fan. He’s a great artist, he’s a great friend. Our friendship [has] actually only gotten stronger recently through the phone calls and conversations of getting to this point. For us, it was important that it didn’t come off like there was any drama. Sorry to say, but it’s not a big, sexy story."

Such Gold Announce Line-Up Change

Such Gold have announced Skylar Sarkis will be guitarist Tim Heald. Sarkis has reecently been provinding vocals for the band after Ben Kotin's recent stabbing.

In addition Hit The Lights' Kevin Mahoney will be playing guitar for the band on their forthcoming May tour dates.

Message from the band:

"Last week we announced that our good friend Skylar Sarkis will be filling in for Ben on vocals for our upcoming May dates with Living With Lions. This week we would like to announce that after our May tour, Skylar will permanently replace Tim Heald on guitar. Tim is leaving on good terms and he will be missed.
Although Skylar currently lives and attends school in Boston, he is an old friend of ours from home, and was the first person we considered contacting when it was time to find a replacement. He is a talented guitar player, a dedicated band-mate, and we're confident that he'll be a great addition to Such Gold. We look forward to touring and writing our full-length with him this Spring.

With Tim gone and Skylar on vocal duty, our good friend Kevin Mahoney from Hit The Lights will be filling in on guitar for a few of our May dates.

See you on the road!"

Pharaohs Posts Update and Announce Line-Up Change

Pharaohs have posted a update, which states the band have gone through a line-up change.

The blog stated:

"Hello all.

Back in February 2010 Josh (previously bass) decided to leave Pharaohs for other commitments. Since then we have been tampering with replacement ideas for the continuation of Pharaohs. We have opted for quite a change.

Rob, who previously played drums, has gone onto guitar, whilst Joe, who played guitar, will now be playing bass. This leads to the introduction of our new drummer. He goes by the name of Inigo Martin-Quirk. Inigo is a fantastic drummer who has come in and learn all the songs, so we can pick up where we left off.

We are currently writing for future releases. Roughly 9 songs are in the pipeline, all taking our previous sound and pushing it as far as we can. We want the next record to be catchier, yet more complex in areas. You can hear some of these tracks live at future dates.

We plan to record over summer and get some songs out so you can all hear what we are doing.

Thanks for reading.

Pharaohs x"

You, Me and Everyone We Know Announce Member Changes

You, Me and Everyone We Know have announced some line-up changes.

The following blog was posted:

"We are just east of Knoxville, Tennessee at the moment. We have alot of exciting stuff planned for this new record. We couldnt be happier with everything. We hate getting attention this way, but we figured we should give you a heads up before we get everything rolling. Ryan and Mike left the band to pursue other avenues in life just before we recorded our new CD. We are all still buds, don't worry. We wish them both the best. So, what does this mean for the band? Nothing that really affects us in a major way. I will be playing a little bit of keyboard on our tour with I Set My Friends On Fire and Karate High School and Rico will be playing guitar like the ferocious guitarist he was before he joined our band. Our friend Josh from Minneapolis is joining us through the rest of the year playing bass. It's new, it's exciting, and life is good. Come see for yourselves. Thanks for continuing to support us so far, our new record comes out on the 18th and we couldnt be more excited!!! We will see you all very soon.-Ben"
