Interview: Pegasus Bridge

Having recently completed a successful UK tour supporting Futures, last weekend Manchester's Pegasus Bridge announced they will be splitting up later this year. However before calling it a day, the quartet will be releasing a new double a-side single and playing several shows throughout the summer before a final farewell in their hometown in September.

Bassist Alex Howick recently caught up with Alter The Press to discuss the split, the new single, their recent tour with Futures and more.

Alter The Press: You've recently finished a UK tour with Futures. How was it?
Alex Howick: The Futures tour was incredibly humbling; we were able to go to places, many which we’d never been to before, yet there were people singing along every single night. Birmingham and Manchester were especially crazy. It was a great bill to be a part of.

Pegasus Bridge Split Up

Pegasus Bridge have announced they are splitting up.

The band will play their final show at Sound Control in Manchester on September 17th.

Paris
This was the first song we wrote for the album. Ages and ages ago, before we were taking it so seriously. It was a very strange time. I don't think there's any reason to go too deep into this one. The lyrics explain everything.

Album Review: Pegasus Bridge - While We're Young

Manchester's Pegasus Bridge have been gradually a good following since releasing their double a-side 'Yoko/Paris' last December. In addition they've received nationwide radio airplay via BBC Radio One and played the stations 'Big Weekend' event. 'While We're Young' fits the LAB Records mould well; fun, upbeat and well-crafted.

Recent single 'Ribena' kickstarts the album with a strong showing of the bands indie pop; quirky keys dominate the verse whilst the bands ability to write brilliant hooks is on show; "But now I drink coffee, not just Ribena. And I like it, I like it". Its quick and straight to the point. From there on in, the band keep up the momentum with aforementioned 'Yoko' following next. Ed Turner's vocals wrap round the bands bouncy rhythm, that you can't help but move too. Like 'Ribena' it'll leave you with a smile on your face, as Pegasus Bridge have this brilliant skill of writing superb pop songs.
