Former They Sink Ships Members Launch New Band (Calais)
Former members of They Sink Ships have launched a new band called Calais.A new song, 'Don't Panic' can be heard here.
Their first release is expected in February.
They Sink Ships Split Up
They Sink Ships have decided to split UP.The band posted the following message:
"We have decided to call it a day and close the door on TSS. The four of us have always remained close and when the news came to us that Steve would be leaving due to genuinely growing up, starting a family and supporting his future, we were left in a situation that only seemed to have one answer. Regardless of the never ending line up change in this band, we all felt like the four of us had become TSS, regardless of founding members and history, the four of us saw in every significant moment to this band as a group, I speak for the rest of us when i say that without us all this band would not have been TSS anymore, not the band we felt us to be anyway, so it only felt right to close the door on it and move on with our lives, no bitter feeling, no regret, just incredibly fond and proud memories.
We would like to thank everyone who has ever shown this band the time of day, we have met some of the nicest people on the road with this band, we have learnt so much about myself, w don't regret one moment of playing in this band because its lead us to where we today , together as great friends. We started this band with the intention of playing our local venue a few times and supporting some of the amazing local bands that drew us into the local music scene. We could never have expected to have released a CD on an independent record label, to have toured the UK multiple times with bands i have the utmost respect for, to travel miles from home to rooms full of people who actually knew our band, we genuinely can't thank those people enough.
This is not the end of us playing music, we have some very exciting things in the pipe line that will be made apparent very soon so please keep yourself on a look our for it, we are very excited about this year and we hope that you will stick by us and show us the love and support that made everything possible.
R.I.P They Sink Ships 2008 - 2010
We will see you very soon
Tom, Connor and Tim"

Live Review: There For Tomorrow, The Friday Night Boys, They Sink Ships, All Forgotten – Underworld, London - 07/04/2010
There’s a mixed crowd occupying Camden Underworld this evening. With wide ranging styles on offer from each band, not even co-headliners The Friday Night Boys and There For Tomorrow draw in more than about three quarters of those in attendance.First up are Surrey five-piece All Forgotten, who would be forgiven for seeing this one off slot as perhaps a step down after supporting Fightstar on their recent UK tour. However, there are no signs of complacency, with crashing performances of ‘Love From A Mother’ and ‘At A Guess I’m Second Best’ provoking an energetic response from the small but enthusiastic crowd.
Despite technical difficulties, Hertfordshire pop-punks They Sink Ships deliver a set that leaves you grinning from ear to ear, with those who at the start seemed indifferent making their way to the stage before their short set is out. ‘Good As Gold’ and ‘King & His Crown’ deliver You Me At Six-esq energy, with a drive remnant of Jimmy Eat World. The hook of ‘When You’re Still Here’ is fired back at the stage with a youthful exuberance synonymous with the genre, leaving the band and the room buzzing.

Interview: They Sink Ships
They Sink Ships are quickly gaining a reputation as the ones to watch in 2010. Fresh off the back of a well received EP ('Home Is Where You Make It') and with dates to come with Stateside punks A Loss for Words, as well as Tell It To The Marines and Francesca. With shows alongside Maycomb, Not Advised and Lost On Landing in the past, the band are slowly getting the name out there. The band currently made up of guitarist's Tim Spatz and Connor Reddy, singer Tom Dani and drummer Steve Bareham, spoke to ATP about life as a young band, working with Matty O’Grady, their views on the industry today and more.
Alter The Press: For those who are unfamiliar with you guys, tell us a little bit about the band?
Tom Dani: We are a five piece pop-rock band from a county just out of London called Hertfordshire, we all grew up idolising our favourite bands and hoping to one day be in the same shoes, this is us trying.
ATP: Your EP “Home Is Where You Make It” just dropped, how do you think it’s been received so far?
Connor Reddy: So far the reception we've had has been incredible! The feedback we've had from fans and critics alike has generally been really positive, and the songs seem to have gone down really well at the live shows as well. As much as we were excited about the release we were quite nervous, we worked the best part of our 2009 on these songs and we are so happy with the result. We never really expected it to be received the way it has thus far.

Album Review: They Sink Ships - Home Is Where You Make It
With shows alongside The Wonder Years, Attack! Attack! and Save Your Breath under their belt, as well as working alongside Romesh Dodangoda (Kids In Glass Houses, The Blackout) and Matt O’Grady (You Me At Six), Hertfordshire's They Sink Ships have a lot going for them.'Home Is Where You Make It' is a short 3-track EP; excluding the 2 Dodangoda-produced bonus tracks, that shows plenty of promise. Although the band don't break the pop-punk mold, they pull it off well. 'Tired Eyes' is a bouncy, poppy number that hits all the right marks, with the standard 'woahs'.
