Maycomb Set To Record New Album

The band posted the following message:
"We have finally booked sixteen days in the studio to track our debut full-length. We’re pretty excited about it, truth be told. It’s going to be engineered by the excellent Frankie Torpey, who also did our last EP, Crystal Tiger Blues.
Between now and July 30th, when we enter his home studio in London, we should be dropping some more information about the record. This has been long overdue, so we’re hoping to do ourselves proud.
For the glory."

Exclusive Sam Little Tour Blog: Day Four

Ipswich, we're coming for you.
We (me and Maycomb) are all packed and clean and ready. The next ten days are gonna be amazing. I went to the their band practice and they're gonna easily blow some people away on this tour. We tried to collaborate an amazing cover, but time was short and we had to go pack the van. As I'm oriental, I'm obviously amazing at Tetris, so the van is packed like a beast. Even the Maycomb guys are impressed at how much stuff I've managed to fit in a small space (wahey).
We're now sat in this van that'll probably contain more in-jokes, obscenities and skin that should be shared between five guys that met properly yesterday. I'm looking forward to it though. There's something about being crammed in a small van, driving for hours in the most ridiculous conditions, that makes it feel like a tour. I reckon I could do this forever, though I'm not sure if that'll still be the same story by day six.

Feature: Maycomb - 'Crystal Tiger Blues' Track By Track Guide

We recently asked bassist/vocalist Simon McCoy from the band to shed some light on the 5-tracks and tell us the story behind each track.
Hope House
The lyrics to this song are uncharacteristically skeptical on my part; I usually try to keep some semblance of optimism in our songs, but that’s not really the case here! It’s basically a cynical look at faith and religion.
I’ve never considered myself religious in any overt way, but I like to think there’s some kind of bigger picture; some kind of justification for the darker things that happen in life. The lyrics to Hope House are about wanting to believe in that notion, but finding it increasingly difficult to do so.
Album Review: Maycomb - Crystal Tiger Blues

Opening track ('Hope House') is your standard upbeat pop-rock with nice production, which thankfully doesn't go down the sickly pop route. Instead we are given a steady, bouncy number that allows the listener to relax and enjoy the track.
New Maycomb Song and EP

The track’s from their brand new EP ‘Crystal Tiger Blues’ which comes out through All Aboard Records on the 15th March.
1. Hope House
2. All I Know Is My Guy Says ‘Maybe’
3. Ghost Stories
4. Always The Courage
5. Whatever Happened, Happened.
