Chalk Washington Square Park up as a future fan favourite - they are one of a multitude of top notch pop punk bands from the musical hotbed that is New Jersey. Currently on their first full US tour, the band currently have a 3 track EP, ‘Simple With No Explanation’ out on Animal Style Records..The four piece, comprising of Max Rauch and Keith Williams; both on guitars/vocals, bassist Brian Legentil and drummer Mike Collins, are weighing down more on the side of punk than pop, but steadily making a name for themselves in the scene. They sound like of all the bands you used to love listening to growing up like MxPx and Millencolin, they’re fun pop punk with a kick to it. ATP! spoke to them about their US tour, Max’s move from drummer to frontman and what they have in store for the future.
ATP: What are the first 3 things that people need to know about Washington Square Park?
Keith (guitar/vocals): We're best appreciated live.
Brian (bass): We're not named after The Wonder Years song!
Max (guitar/vocals): We love each other more than any band loves one another.

Washington Square Park and More To Play The Fresh Clothing's Freak Show
Washington Square Park have been announced for The Fresh Clothing's punk show/rave called 'Freak Show!'. The line-up also includes 96 and DJ sets by Slam Fresh (Sam from Cash Cash) and Chicken & Rice.The show takes place at The Meatlocker in Montclair, NJ on May 21st.

The Exotic Aquatic will play their last show this Saturday (February 19th) in Montclair, NJ with GDP, Washington Square Park, and The Front Bottoms.Singer/songwriter Jason Soroka has provided a statement:
"All good things must come to an end. The people we've met, the places we've seen, and our accomplishments are all memories that I will keep for the rest of my life. There was no bad blood in coming to this decision. The Exotic Aquatic was a very big part of my life and I feel very honored and blessed to have shared it with our friends and fans. Thank you for your endless support."

Washington Square Park has joined up with Animal Style Records and will release their debut self-titled LP on vinyl on March 8th. The release features 2 brand new songs, 'Out With the Crowd' and 'Punx Knew'. In addition the release includes revamped artwork, and is limited to 500 copies on 3 different colours.
